Yamaha Other description

This posting is for a gray and black 2014 Yamaha Zuma 50F motorized scooter.  I think it's technically 49cc and legally classified as a motorcycle because it is capable of exceeding 30 miles per hour (45 downhill is my top speed).  I bought the vehicle brand new at MR Motorcycle in Asheville, NC.  It was driven back and forth to work for about five months, spent a year outside and a year in storage.  Yamaha Extended Service warranty is in effect until July 18, 2019.  I also have around five hundred dollars in prepaid service at MR Motorcycle.

This scooter is more fun than I can explain.  Living in Asheville, NC when I bought it, I zipped around downtown and West Asheville very easily due to the low speed limits and easy parking.  Now that I'm in Atlanta and moving to an apartment where storing and riding the scooter is impractical, it has to go.

I'm including a 6' 8028 Doberman Coil Cable lock, which has its own warranty.  I also have a helmet and waterproof jumpsuit if wanted.  However, even though I've never had any spills, it's always best to get fitted with a brand new helmet that works best for you.

It's made for one-rider only, has a wet weight limit of 205 lbs, is automatic and fuel-injected, holds just over a gallon of gas, and easily gets 100 miles per gallon.

I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.  Thanks for looking!!

Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?

Tue, 30 Dec 2008

A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.

The opening round of the 2014 MotoGP season is complete, and if the Grand Prix of Qatar is any indication, it looks like it’ll be an interesting season. If you haven’t yet, read up on the recap for the Qatar MotoGP race for the details on what transpired at Losail International Circuit in Doha. Here then are some of the (mostly spoiler-free) photographs from the Grand Prix of Qatar, including images from the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 classes.
