EICMA 2013: Yamaha Reveals the Tricity

Today, at the EICMA 2013 show, Yamaha unveiled what it is calling a new direction in its urban commuter category. The Tricity is a LMW (Leaning Multi Wheel) scooter aimed at folks who previously may not have considered a two-wheeled alternatives to public transportation. 2013 Star V-Star 1300 Deluxe Unveiled

Yamaha has introduced a new 1304cc bagger to its Star Motorcycles lineup. The new 2013 Star V-Star 1300 Deluxe comes with hard luggage, batwing fairing and audio and navigation system but at a impressively low $13,690 price. Powering the Deluxe is the same 80 ci liquid-cooled V-Twin engine with computer-controlled twin-barrel fuel injection used in the base V-Star 1300 and V-Star Tourer.

In a time where air-cooled icons like Harley-Davidson, Indian, BMW‘s boxer engine and the Ducati Monster have all embraced the radiator, it’s a bit surprising to know Yamaha is still offering the XJR1300 in Europe. Featuring the world’s largest-displacement air-cooled Inline-Four engine in production, the XJR1300 lives on in 2015 with a new custom-inspired look and a cafe racer variant. The 2015 XJR1300 was inspired by a custom from builder Keino called “Rhapsody in Blue” as part of Yamaha’s Yard Built program.
