2013 Yamaha Super Tenere (purchased new in July 2015). 16,000 miles, mostly on the highway, ridden to Alaska in 2016. 1199cc parallel twin, a powerful motor, this bike is fast and has plenty of torque. Color is matte gray. Has ABS, traction control and two riding modes. Water cooled with shaft drive, minimal maintenance required. 6 gallon gas tank, weight is 575 pounds. 19 inch front and 17 inch rear tires. Fun to ride on the curves and very comfortable riding all day on the highway. Has many extras: Reworked seat by Spencer with long distance foam. Givi mounts with side cases and top case included. Givi crash bars provide tip over protection and allow mounting of highway pegs. V-Stream hard coat windshield with RAM GPS mount. Battery tender/compressor leads. Front fender extender. Heat troller for heated jacket liner.

Cameron Beaubier led a parade of Yamaha YZF-R6 racebikes to win the 72nd running of the famed Daytona 200. The Yamaha Extended Service Graves Yamaha rider started from pole position and led for 50 of 57 laps before winning by a 22.254-second margin. Behind Beaubier were four other R6 riders including his teammate Garret Gerloff who finished second.

Finding sponsors for U.S. racing might be next to impossible, but this isn’t the case elsewhere, as Movistar, a telecommunications arm of Spanish company Telefonica, has signed on to be the title sponsor for the Factory Yamaha MotoGP team for the next five years. Short of the 20-year relationship between Honda and Repsol, this comes as one of the more significant sponsorship deals in recent memory.
