Yamaha Tenere 700 Raid Prototype First Look

Tue, 23 Nov 2021

Return to sender Well the seat was a little high, at 34.6 inches, but that didn’t stop the Yamaha Ténéré 700 from doing very well in last summer’s blockbuster middleweight ADV comparison. Keeping it simple and keeping the weight down was a great recipe for success, and now Yamaha is fixin’ to take it to the next level with a Ténéré 700 Raid, for which this machine it showed at EICMA serves as prototype. Zero-mile, still crated Yamaha RZ500N for sale

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

This brand new, unregistered, never-even-been-fired-up Yamaha RZ500N has been revealed in the warehouse of a motorcycle dealer in Australia. We know it was the RD500LC but over in Australia (and Canada) it was called the RZ500N. It comes exactly as it arrived from Japan, with two keys, the service manual, mirrors etc.

This picture of me chasing Foggy on the Daytona banking in 1991 brought back some bitter sweet memories recently. I did half a season as his team mate on the Silkolene RC30s before scurrying off to Japan to ride a factory Yamaha Superbike. I’ve never been a quitter but I felt the team that year was gear stretched running two riders so it was a case of last in first out.
