This posting is for my 2000 Yamaha Venture Millenium M/M Limited Edition
This Yamaha equipped with the comfort, features and classic motorcycle feel of the Venture, the MM Limited, when it was released, received head-turning styling cues for the new millennium. Each model has a trunk-mounted brass serial number plate, as well as MM emblems adorning the speedometer, fuel tank and both saddlebag hinges. Less than 1,500 of these gorgeous machines are slated for worldwide production, 1,000 of which, only, made their way to the USA. The MM Limited also boasts upgrades that include modifications to the clock and speedometer housing, and an all-new collapsible antenna. The Venture MM Limited is available in Pearl White/Ivory and arrived at dealerships nationwide in December 1999 at a manufacturers, base, suggested retail price of $16,099. The Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., thought so highly of this model that it backed all Venture MM Limited Editions with a bold premier customer support package which includes a five-year, unlimited mileage warranty and 24-hour roadside assistance. This package also features a 24-hour toll-free service line, 24-hour emergency towing, locksmith service, dealer locator service, trip interruption benefits and a customized trip planning service. I took this Venture in trade, with just over, only, 43k-miles on it, on a pickup truck I was selling as I desperately, going on 74-years old, wanted to get back into motorcycling touring. However, once I took it out for ride, after doing the deal, I found out that the bike is too heavy for me....what with my having arthritis in both hips and lower back. It is because of this, that I am, with great regret, that I am putting it up for sale....as it was the absolute best riding, and comfortable, motorcycle I have ever owned! I have checked all over the Internet, and CraigsList to get an idea of how I should price it as I want to be as fair as possible to the potential buyer and also recover close to what I should not have allowed for it in trade. As I post this ad there is an almost identical "M/M" for sale in Morgantown, NC for $8,700.00 The bike is in storage here in my barn in Cumberland, Rogues Island and any serious buyer is welcome to come see it here at my home in Cumberland, RI. However, keep in mind that my price is ROCK SOLID FIRM. Here then are the Original Specifications right from Yamaha's website! POWERTRAIN Engine: LIQUID COOLED V-4, not an air cooled twin. 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 Video Featuring Ben Spies
Mon, 26 Sep 2011Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.
Ben Spies Video Interview on 2012 MotoGP Season [Video]
Thu, 22 Mar 2012Yamaha Factory Racing today posted on its YouTube page a video interview with Ben “Elbowz” Spies, in which Spies discusses the soon to start 2012 season of MotoGP. In his usual calm, cool and under control manner Spies speaks frankly on how he prefers the 1000cc GP machine, saying it suits his style (elbows out!) better than the previous seasons’ 800cc bikes because the extra torque and horsepower of the liter-class bikes are, essentially, better matched to his physical stature. Spies also answers honestly the question of who he thinks he needs to keep an eye in 2012, including his teammate, Jorge Lorenzo.
Custom Motorcycle Inspired By…A Stove?
Wed, 05 Feb 2014The custom motorcycle scene is different in Indonesia. Just take this 1968 Yamaha XS650 for example. Built by Barata Dwiputra of Thrive Motorcycles, his inspiration came from a very unsuspecting source: wood-burning stoves.
