Yamaha Other tech info
Yamaha Other description
This Auction is for a 1990 Yamaha FZR 400 with VERY LOW original Miles. Its very unusual to see this model in this pristine condition with this low miles. Most were raced or abused. This bike is Immaculate...LOOK at the Pictures, they speak at 1000 words. Paint is excellent and shiny, all decals, instruments complete, clear, clean, seat is supptle and soft. Tires are good, engine clean, original pipe is in excellent condition, windshield, signals, etc all excellent. YES the Wheels are not the stock grey color, I was told the original owner had them professionally Powder coated High gloss red by the previous owner oxidation anywhere on this bike This Bike just had the carbs cleaned and synced. It runs and idles perfectly and screams up to its 14k redline. This bike handles very well and can hold its own in the twisties up against many larger bikes. If your bidding on this bike, most likely you already know, how they ride and feel. Not much else to say. I had a red and white one of these and
this one I feel is even more rare.
thanks Good luck.

Yamaha Recalls R1 and Super Tenere for Overheating Headlights
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Yamaha has started a recall campaign on 2009-2013 YZF-R1 sportbikes and 2012-2013 Super Ténéré models because of a risk of headlight failure due to overheating. The recall campaign affects 19,045 units of the R1 and 4,683 units of the Super Ténéré in the U.S. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, heat generated by the headlight bulb socket may cause the terminal ends to expand, resulting in arcing between the terminal connector and bulb contact.
Cardboard Yamaha R1
Tue, 01 May 2012I'm partial to a bit of origami and have been frustratingly screwing up paper trying to master Yamaha's paper craft series for a while now. Jack Chen from Australia has not only made a mockery of my model making failures, but he also made this version which is 40% smaller than a full-size Yamaha YZF-R1, out of cardboard.
One man who didn't want to be watching the Sachsenring MotoGP
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Jorge Lorenzo posted this picture on his Twitter feed on Sunday. Yamaha's No.1 rider had to watch Sunday's MotoGP from his apartment. Despite Crutchlow reckoning Sunday's race result would have been the same even with Pedrosa and Lorenzo on the grid, I reckon Lorenzo would have had something to say about that.
