1989 Yamaha XVZ13 VENTURE ROYALE MK2, INEXPENSIVE, COMFORTABLE AND FAST! - The 1,198 cc (73.1 cu in) V4 engine from the Mk1 Venture was modified for performance and was used as the engine in the Yamaha V-Max. Many of these changes were incorporated into the Mk2 version of the Venture. Mechanical[edit] The Mk2 was produced from 1986 through 1993 and had a 1,298 cc (79.2 cu in) (referred to as 1,300 cc) engine with the trunk and side bags rigidly mounted. a full frame mounted fairing with a AM/FM cassette stereo, an air suspension control system with onboard compressor, and electronic cruise control. A CB radio was an option. The drive package on the Venture Royale includes a liquid cooled V-4 engine. It has four valves per cylinder, overhead camshafts, and shim over bucket valves. The five speed transmission is part of the engine case and both the engine and transmission share oil. The drive shaft and final drive assembly are built into the left side of the double sided swing arm. Swing arm motion is damped by an air preloaded monoshock mounted in the center of the frame. The clutch is of the wet plate design and is hydraulically activated.

Mon, 13 Jan 2014After a day of rest, Sunday’s stage seven was characterized by rain during the night and a new Dakar country – Bolivia. After an early start at 4:30 in the morning, the first 62 miles of the special stage into Bolivia had to be shortened due to rain and poor visibility, low-hanging clouds that prevented the helicopters from taking off creating security issues. The route led across the Andes and towards the Bolivian border.
