Yamaha Other description

Up for sale 1988 FZR 400/600, 1988 FZR400 aluminum frame with FZR600 motor.

The good points of the bike are it is in excellent running condition, with a good motor, transmission, and drive. The suspension on this bike is EXCELLENT, with Racetech cartridge emulators and .90 springs in the front, and a genuine Ohlins shock absorber on the rear. Brake upgraded with early R6 master cylinder, blue dot calipers, and EBC brake rotors. Can include original brake calipers and master if winning bidder desires.  Bike has a Corbin one piece seat, OEM two piece seat included. Bike also has a generic linear steering damper fitted on the left side.  Motor also has a Vance and Hines PowerPack ignition controller; it bypasses the spark controller (much like a Power Commander bypasses the ECU on a modern bike) and gives you a choice of four ignition curves (stock, street, road race, and drag race) and 4 alternate rev limiters.  Has a nice Vance and Hines SS2R pipe. All of the locks work and match!

Neutral points: The bike needs a good detailing. Has Renthal sprockets, but they are worn. Bike has a clean, aftermarket top triple with risers for straight bars. Set up as it is with these upright bars and Corbin seat, it is very comfortable for such a small bike, but I don't have the original triple and clip ons, so if you want to race or track it you might want to invest in those. Fortunately FZR600 triple trees and clip ons are identical, so they should be dirt cheap.

The bad: The Deltabox stick-on logos on the frame are missing, and the bodywork is not very nice. I have some spare bits, but OEM lowers don't fit around the FZR600 headers.

Extras: Since the awesome suspension makes this a great cheap track bike, I will include at no extra cost a complete set of race bodywork, consisting of a well-used but serviceable Airtech upper, lower, and tank cover, and a brand new, virgin, undrilled, Sharkskinz tail.

Bike would make a nice streetfighter/commuter, restoration project, or slap some clip ons and the included race bodywork on (maybe source you an original 400 motor) and it would be great as a cheap track bike or AHRMA racer. It is titled in my name and street legal.

Distant buyers, it is your responsibility to arrange pickup or crating/shipping at your own expense. $250 deposit due via Paypal immediately upon purchase. Thanks for looking and good luck

2014 Yamaha MT-125 Announced for Europe

Wed, 07 May 2014

Yamaha has added a new 125cc model to its suddenly burgeoning MT series of naked streetbikes in the European market. The 2014 Yamaha MT-125 joins the MT-07, the MT-09 and the MT-09 Street Rally, all of which were introduced in the last year. Unfortunately for the moment only the MT-09 has been announced for the U.S.

2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP Review - First Ride

Fri, 18 Nov 2022

The MT-10 steps it up with some help from Öhlins. Credit: Photos by Joseph Agustin | Videos by Ray Gouger, Justin Brayton Let the record show that, despite my best efforts, Yamaha’s MT-10 was not included in either the street or track portions of our mega seven-way open-class naked bike shootouts last year. I fought for its inclusion but was ultimately denied by the Bossman who wrote it off by saying our field was big enough and it wasn’t going to win anyway.
