Ben Spies Signs Contract Extension with Yamaha
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Yamaha has signed Ben Spies to a one-year contract extension to continue racing on its MotoGP factory team in 2012. The extension comes after Spies, currently seventh in the Championship standings, recorded his first podium finish of the 2011 season, a third place result at Catalunya. Spies earned two other podium finishes in 2010 in his Rookie of the Year winning debut in the class with the Tech 3 satellite team.
Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season
Wed, 04 Dec 2013More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

The new Super Ten exhaust from Remus comes in two options, the stainless steel hexacone retails at £370 and offers 1.6kg of weight saved on the stock OEM exhaust with a power increase of 7.5bhp. The second choice for the Yamaha's big adventure bike is the lighter titanium hexacone, the can offers the same increase in power but saves 1.81kg in weight.
