Nice 1974 TY 175. Starts easily, pulls strongly through all 6 gears, runs and stops just the way it should.
New controls ( levers, bars, and throttle); it also comes with a reproduction TY175 seat cover that is uninstalled. Sammy Miller aftermarket footpeg kit makes for a more secure grip on the pegs. Motor has some top end ticking noise that is louder when first starting the bike, but recedes when things are warmed up. The tank is in good condition; one small depression on the side, and some paint fading from knee rub. Overall, a very solid TY175; just ridden at the Hollister Ahrma National earlier this month. Day 2 Dakar 2014: Sunderland Wins First Special Stage
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Honda won the second day of competition with Team HRC’s Sam Sunderland claiming victory in the first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Sunderland has had a frustrating time at previous Dakars, dropping out after three days of racing in 2012 and withdrawing a month before last year’s event due to fracturing both his wrists. Today, however, Sunderland made a grand entrance into the club of elite riders by brilliantly winning his first special stage of this year’s Dakar. Having started well behind his teammate, Joan Barreda, the 23-year old Brit superbly overtook Michael Metge and Juan Pedrero on the first part of the route.
