1972 Yamaha DS7. The bike runs and shifts but needs work. The left cylinder blows oil out of the exhaust. The clutch cable is stretched out. The paint job is amateur. There is duct tape over the rubber tubes between the carbs and the airbox. There is a clicking noise when the ignition switch is turned on before starting the bike. The horn, signals and headlight are not working. The title is clear. It is still in the previous owners name. The fuel tank is clean inside. It has a new battery and the owners manual is included. The bike may be picked up near Green Bay,WI. Any shipping costs and arrangements are the buyers responsibility.

The 2012 AMA Supercross Championship race is getting tighter with a fourth race winner in as many rounds following James Stewart‘s victory in Oakland, Calif. The JGRMX Yamaha racer captured his first win of the 2012 season at Oakland’s O.co Coliseum. Stewart out-dueled longtime rival Chad Reed of TwoTwo Motorsports Honda for the win.

R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap

Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.

Yamaha announced new 2013 colors and graphics for its flagship sportbike, the YZF-R1. Beside the three color options, the 2013 Yamaha R1 returns unchanged, after getting a new seven-level traction control system in 2012. The three color options for 2013 are Matte Gray, Rapid Red and Raven, and the Team Yamaha Blue and White.
