1974 Yamaha XS (1974)
Attention vintage motorcycle collectors, here ia a 1974 Yamaha XS500 project that has been sitting inside storage for ten years,i have a clear title, motor kicks over with good compression with the kicker on the right side of the motor, throttle is free, the carbs probably will need cleaning before the bike will run, brakes work but they drag on the rotors so they might have to be unbolted to push the bike around, clutch lever pulls in,tranni shifts threw the gears, needs a battery, there was a windjammer on the bike that is disposed of so the headlite is sitting on the bike for the pictures I grabbed off the shelf in the garage not sure if it will work for this bike, might be a nut or bolt missing here and there and or other everything I have for the bike is in the pictures, selling as is although I don't see any major repairs that the bike will need, might be some rust here and there, buyer will have to pay for shipping and locate there own shipper if one is needed I'm not sure there prices I have met with them several times very easy to work with usually uship.com,i can store the bike for one week after the auction ends if your not local, auction may end early because I might sell the bike before the auction ends, paypal or Walmart wire transfer accepted as payment if your not local,Thanks for looking and good luck bidding I'm located in Minnesota and the bike is in storage the zip code is 55304,Im always looking to buy old and or unwanted motorcycles and snowmobiles,Thanks Carl.2016-12-16 04:40:51Forest Lake, Minnesota, United States176400

1981 Yamaha XS (1981)
***1981 Yamaha XS1100 Midnight Special (1 of only 250 ever made!)*** Fall Special-Low reserve! For sale is this awesome Yamaha XS 1100 Midnight Special. If you are unaware of how rare these actually are, you should probably do some research before you bid. This is one of only 500 ever, and one of only 250 for 1981! Not only one of the rarest production Yamahas ever, one of the rarest production early Super-bikes as well---EVER!!! Based on the company's big XS1100 sport-tourer introduced in the late 1970s, the 1981 Yamaha 1100 Midnight Special motorcycle differs from other Super-Bikes of the era in having a traditional Japanese inline four-cylinder engine rather than the trendy V-twin. It also featured shaft drive, likewise carried over from the XS. While an extended fork, teardrop tank, and stepped saddle made it clear this was a cruiser, the double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine gave it powerful performance unmatched by contemporary V-twins. 95 BHP and a blistering 112 MPH quarter mile time!2016-11-15 04:47:09Parrottsville, Tennessee, United States125700

1980 Yamaha XS (1980)
This is a Yamaha XS 650 special which has been lightly customized with low bars, bar end mirrors, fork boots, Harley style mufflers, and a unique seat cowl. The bike has a clear PA title signed by the previous owner. I noticed that while the mileage on the title states 28000 the mileage on the speedometer is 23500. The bike started easily on fresh gas and idled and accelerated smoothly on a 10 mile test drive. I did not exceed 65 mph as the tires are dry and have sidewall cracks, but the bike seemed to have plenty more speed on tap. All gears shifted well and all lights and instruments work. The mufflers are not as loud as they look and bike has a deep mellow tone. The engine does not make any unusual noises. The brakes felt a little spongy and probably need some attention. There is a dent in the tachometer housing (see picture.) There is a deep scratch on the top of the front fender but is is hard to see (see picture.) There are small tears at the front lower corners of the seat cover that have been sewn up (see picture.)2016-11-02 04:41:00Severna Park, Maryland, United States231,800.00

1975 Yamaha XS (1975)
Yamaha XS650B 1975 For Sale, No Reserve! A true motorcycling classic with probably one of the best parallel twins ever made. This is a beautiful, low-mileage, great running, garage kept 1975 Yamaha XS650. Bike cranks and runs great. Has electric starter that works, though I rarely used it as it kick starts easily. Replaced the carb in 2015 so it is basically brand new. All electronics work fine. The seat is original and in great condition; there are no rips or tears. Obviously given its age there are some very light scratches here and there but extremely few given the age, and bottom line is that everything works as it should, it's quick and handles great.2016-07-18 04:55:10Powder Springs, Georgia, United States97900

1979 Yamaha XS (1979)
Clean 1979 Yamaha XS650 with 3200 miles. If you're here I probably don't have to convince you on much about these XS650s but here I go. It's an awesome bike, easy to work on, tons of parts (both aftermarket and OEM), easy to ride, quick but not crazy, and an awesome sound (parallel twins are my personal favorite). I got this bike from the original 1979 buyer and I have the papers to prove; I have the original invoice from Action Sport Cycles in Metuchen and the original owner's packet w/ the manual, warranty card and information booklet.2016-06-19 04:53:49Montville, New Jersey, United States33,500.00

2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Review – First Ride
Wed, 28 Aug 2024Better suspension and Track mode brings us so close to an R9 Photos by Dave Schelske As the tail rider in a train of approximately seven identical Yamahas, I couldn’t help but watch in awe as each of us weaved our way through the notorious Tail of the Dragon, bending the bike underneath us to our will through the 120-something corners, the unison of the dance mesmerizing as each of us took our turn, one by one, around each apex, at irresponsible speeds, front wheels inches away from the person in front of us. This is the kind of trust you build up after you’ve ridden with the same group of people for years on end. We all know that riding with your friends is fun.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Review – First Ride
Tue, 14 May 2024More minor changes in anticipation of the R9 Photos by Joseph Agustine. There really wasn’t a reason to update Yamaha’s MT-09. We love the MT-09, and apparently you do too – it’s been Yamaha’s best-selling MT model for a decade.
2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Ride
Wed, 13 Dec 2023Small updates keep the T7 fresh, but we're still missing out on the European variants Photos by Yamaha/Joseph Agustin Photo Yamaha’s popular Ténéré 700 “T7” adventure bike returns for 2024, and while it would be easy to say it is “largely unchanged” from the 2023 model, there have been some notable changes made in response to feedback from many North American riders. One wish still unrealized: the U.S. dealers won’t be getting the up-spec World Raid and numerous other versions of the T7 the EU enjoys - at least not this year.

2024 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review
Thu, 17 Aug 2023Riding 950 miles across three states in two days highlights this Tracer’s capabilities Photography by Joseph Augustin New motorcycle model introductions follow a well-worn path: travel to the event location, eat nice meals, get briefed on the bike of the moment, ride a route designed to highlight the bike’s strengths, take photos/video, eat more good food, return home, and write up a review. After 27 years in this industry, I still get a cheap thrill about throwing a leg over a new motorcycle before it is available to the general public. However, what really gets me going is when I have a chance to log more than just the couple of hundred miles typically covered in an intro and spend some real time on the road with said bike.
2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Review – First Ride
Thu, 18 May 2023Yamaha’s sports tourer middleweight receives an influx of technology for 2023 Astute readers are probably wondering why Motorcycle.com is publishing a First Ride of a bike that’s not coming to the States this model year. Our reasoning is that, thanks to the sleuthing of Dennis Chung, we suspect the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ will be coming to the U.S. in 2024.
Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+ Finally Coming to US for 2024
Thu, 06 Apr 2023Sport-tourer equipped with radar-based adaptive cruise control Last November, Yamaha Motor Europe revealed a new Tracer 9 GT+ at EICMA, a new version of its Triple-powered sport tourer equipped with a 7-inch TFT display, adaptive cruise control, and a radar-linked unified braking system. Yamaha Motor USA, however, remained quiet about it, and we later learned the Tracer 9 GT+ was not coming to the States for 2023. In fact, even the less techy regular Tracer 9 was left out of Yamaha Motor USA’s returning model announcements.
Yamaha MT-10 SP Project Bike - Update 1
Thu, 26 Jan 2023Everythings installed and initial impressions. It’s been about a month since we introduced Motorcycle.com’s 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP semi-long-term project bike. In case you forgot the premise of this whole thing, Yamaha offered us the opportunity to hang on to an MT-10 SP for an extended period of time, and since I have a soft spot for the bike, I decided to give it some tasteful upgrades to address some key weaknesses while also unleashing some trapped potential.
Introducing Motorcycle.com's 2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP Semi Long Term Bike
Tue, 20 Dec 2022Tasteful mods and curvy miles are in store. Credit: Photos by Joseph Agustin (Lead Photo) Long-term test bikes aren’t something we normally do here at Motorcycle.com, but when Yamaha’s PR guy Gerrad Capley said I could take the MT-10 SP home after the press intro, it was an offer that was hard to resist. When I asked him how long I could have it, he basically shrugged his shoulders and winked.
