Yamaha JT1 description

This is a very original, unrestored 1971 Yamaha JT1 in Desert Orange. It was owned by Jim Moon of Jim Moon Yamaha in Springfield, Missouri and was purchased from his estate after he passed away. Speaking to the family, we believe the bike to be in original, unrestored condition. The only item I can see that might have been replaced are the tank emblems as they appear to be later model versions. Other than that, the bike is in original condition right down to the Nitto tires! The mileage is unknown as these were not fitted with an odometer from the factory.

The bike runs and rides perfectly. The transmission is crisp and she usually lights off on the first or second kick. The oil injection pump works perfectly and there appears to be no issue with the mechanics of the bike.

The bike has not been offered to the public and is not currently for sale elsewhere so bid with confidence. Our shop specializes in restoration and modification of classic and modern motorcycles. We are a licensed Missouri dealer and have titles for all the bikes we list. Please feel free to contact us at any time for more information.

Yamaha Named Official Motorcycle Of Road America

Thu, 02 May 2013

The economic downturn hit the motorcycle world particularly hard, as many factory-backed road racing efforts closed shop. The decision, while unfortunate, isn’t hard to understand, as racing at the highest levels isn’t cheap, and a factory involvement means added pressure to succeed, which ultimately means spending more money to do so. Through it all, however, Yamaha has remained involved with the sport, fielding factory teams and sponsoring various riding schools and even racetracks.

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

After a day of rest, Sunday’s stage seven was characterized by rain during the night and a new Dakar country – Bolivia. After an early start at 4:30 in the morning, the first 62 miles of the special stage into Bolivia had to be shortened due to rain and poor visibility, low-hanging clouds that prevented the helicopters from taking off creating security issues. The route led across the Andes and towards the Bolivian border.
