The under-cowl's adjustable panel has a new design for rider convenience and can be adjusted without tools.•The new adjustable wind screenimproves rider comfort, the adjustment speed is now twice as fast and the screen holds its position when the key is turned off.•The throttle body is redesigned, and the shape of the funnel and the shape and length of the exhaust pipe have been changed to use the new YCC-T system.•The new Yamaha D-Mode system offers riders a choice of T-Mode or S-Mode. T-Mode provides good performance characteristics needed for touring. The S-mode maximizes the performance characteristics for a sportier ride.•New cruise control adjusts speed via a single push to the switch or, for larger adjustments, by continuously pushing the switch. Application of the brakes, clutch or throttle automatically releases the cruise control function. There is also a "resume" function that returns the cruise control to the most recent setting.•New handlebar switches on both the right and left control heated-grip temperature, electronic wind screenadjustments, and the instrument panel display. There is also a knob for headlamp beam adjustment.•FJR1300 features a traction control system to help provide smooth, consistent traction on wet road surfaces or unpaved roads for more rider confidence.•The new dash and instrument panel offer modern styling with a threepart arrangement: an analog meter on the left, a digital speedometer in the center, and a multi-dot display on the right.•The new fork design incorporates an aluminum piston rod and plunger and features a new spring rate. That includes an 889cc inline Triple and new Deltabox-style frame. As of this writing, the new 2022 Yamaha XSR900 has not been announced for the U.S., but we expect to get news on that front soon.
Yamaha Champions Riding School To Debut One-Day “Day Camps” This August
Tue, 22 Jul 2014On August 13, the Yamaha Champions Riding School, at New Jersey Motorsports Park, will debut its new one-day clinic. In addition, YCRS will head an N2 Track Days SED or “Skills Enhancement Day” on August 12. After eight successful two-day programs in the past four months, the YCRS Day Camp is being put into play and being paired with the proven success of the N2 (formerly NESBA) SED.
Yamaha Reveals PES1 and PED1 Electric Prototypes
Fri, 08 Nov 2013Yamaha is bringing two new electric motorcycle prototypes to the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show: the PES1 streetbike and the PED1 dirt bike. The nomenclature is a combination of the initials for Passion, Electric and Street for the street version and Dirt for the off-road model. Both prototypes are equipped with DC brushless electric motors powered by lithium-ion batteries.
