Yamaha FJR description

With a heavy heart, I am selling my brand new 2013 FJR.  If you are reading this you probably know the FJR is legendary in the sport touring world and the Generation III model released for 2013 only improved on a great motorcycle.  Standard cruise control, two drive modes, ride by wire throttle, great instrumentation readouts, gear position indicator, the works.  So why I am I selling?  I have had a FJR since 2005 and, alas, I find I am no spring chicken anymore.  The wife and I want to do more two up riding and at our age all signs point to a Honda Gold Wing.  I don't want two motorcycles so someone will be lucky enough to get a nearly new Gen III FJR so I can get a pre-owned Gold Wing somewhere. I knew this day would come I just did not know it would be now.  All you need to do is ride this machine; all farkles and add-ons for the discerning sport touring rider are complete in my opinion.  Without further grousing about the aging process, here is the deal:

Took delivery in January 2013 from Reno's Powersports of KC - first Generation III FJR sold in Kansas City area - VIN ending in 308 indicates it's the 308th US bound Gen III FJR made by Yamaha
5040 miles on the odometer
Clear Missouri title
600 mile and 4,000 mile factory services performed by Reno's Powersports of KC
Always kept on Battery Tender
Always garaged except when ridden somewhere overnight; never dropped, never crashed
Engine completely stock
Comes with all manuals, key blank, extra saddle bag lock, service records, color inserts for riding without the saddle bags, saddle bag liners, keys for top case
Aftermarket add ons/farkles include
  • Transferable Yamaha YES extended warranty in place until December 25, 2017
  • Bridgestone B-023GT Battlax high performance sport touring tires with 3500 miles (I got rid of the stock B-023 Bridgestone in favor of the heavier duty GT spec tires)
  • Heli-Bar Tour Performance triple clamp assembly (stock triple clamp included)
  • Skene Design Photon Blaster front conspicuity LED lights and rear P3 LED brake lights - each synced to turn signal operation and programmable (stock reflectors included) (these lights are super bright and are meant to make you more conspicuous not to illuminate down the road)
  • Powerlet connectors fore and aft (rear set connector has BMW style port for heated gear or other accessories-front connector is to battery and has pigtail connector)
  • Heavy (16 oz.) buffed bar end weights to ensure super smooth ride
  • 90 degree buffed aluminum valve stems fore and aft for easy tire pressure checks
  • Cee Bailey flip aircraft plastic windshield 4" taller and 3" wider than stock (stock windshield included)
  • Cee Bailey aircraft plastic headlight lens protectors
  • Corbin touring saddle rider and passenger - stock seat included plus stock seat hight selector adapter
  • SHAD 50 liter top case in matte black with OEM mounting plate (color plate from my old 2005 FJR is included for the case should you wish have it painted to match the bike in some way)
  • Garmin Zumo 450 cradle for conforming GPS device to RAM mount bolted to center stem
  • Two accessory 7/8" RAM mount balls installed for your gadgets etc.
  • Factory FJR cover included
  • PIAA high and low tone sports horns give 130db sound to other motorists

Charges Laid Against Suspect for 185 mph Yamaha R1 YouTube Video

Fri, 13 Jul 2012

Remember that video on YouTube about the rider going 185 mph on a highway in Canada? The video went viral and eventually led to the seizure of a Yamaha R1 and $1,449 (Canadian) in traffic tickets issued to its owner. In April, police in Saanich, British Columbia believed they had enough evidence to seize the R1 and issued tickets to the registered owner for speeding, operating without due care and attention, and operating without insurance.

Best Helmet Designs from the 2009 MotoGP Season

Thu, 22 Oct 2009

Unlike with most athletes, motorcycle racers’ faces remain hidden during competition. Except for promotional events or pre- and post-race interviews, the faces of our racing heroes are shielded under protective helmets with tinted visors. You don’t see the same human emotion in their faces like you can when soccer players score a goal or baseball players hit a home run.

Movistar To Be Yamaha MotoGP Title Sponsor For 5-Years

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Finding sponsors for U.S. racing might be next to impossible, but this isn’t the case elsewhere, as Movistar, a telecommunications arm of Spanish company Telefonica, has signed on to be the title sponsor for the Factory Yamaha MotoGP team for the next five years. Short of the 20-year relationship between Honda and Repsol, this comes as one of the more significant sponsorship deals in recent memory.
