2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 Video Featuring Ben Spies
Mon, 26 Sep 2011Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.
Hilarious Lorenzo sidecar spoof
Tue, 12 Jan 2010CHECK OUT this cracking bit of video starring Spanish MotoGP sensation Jorge Lorenzo out and about on his scooter outfit on the streets of Barcelona. Watch as the Fiat Yamaha man negotiates rush-hour traffic, suffers numerous breakdowns and gets pulled over by the Spanish cops. Great to know these lads can have a laugh too, eh?
The perfect classified advert
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Forget “One careful owner, low mileage, full service history” – when it comes to penning classifieds we can all learn from Kyle Miller and Joe Strachila who’ve plundered their marketing genius to come up with the best scooter advert we’ve ever seen. The pair, from Seattle, became an internet sensation last year when they created a hyperbole-packed ad for $700-worth of frankly rubbish 1995 Pontiac Grand-Am. Now they’ve pulled the same trick to get rid of a Y2K Yamaha SH50 (the comically-named ‘Razz’), advertising it on Cragslist as “the fulfilment of your wildest fantasies”.
