Yamaha FJR description

2005 Yamaha FJR1300, Touring bike comfort with sportbike power and handling!! - Join An Exclusive Club Combining near-superbike power and handling with touring-bike comfort and convenience seemed like such a natural idea, it’s almost surprising that the FJR1300 remains in a class of one. Oh well. “Supersport Touring” remains an exclusive Yamaha niche, and anyway, the critics seem to understand exactly where we’re going with the FJR1300. The Awards Just Keep Stacking Up he latest award the FJR1300 has garnered is Cycle World Magazines 2004 Best Sport-Touring Bike . Heres what they had to say - ...with superb luggage, superbike power, fine handling and great riding position, and nothing can touch it for eating all the pavement you care to feed it at a rate that will embarrass any other bike with saddlebags. Last season, it was called Motorcyclist Magazines Tourer of the Year , while it was labeled Rider Magazines Motorcycle of the Year for 2003 . Not to mention, it was Cycle Worlds 2002 Best Sport-Touring Bike , right out of the gate. It might be confusing, at first, but soon youll understand - A powerhouse 1298cc, DOHC, 16-valve, liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine producing 145 horsepower and 99 foot-pounds of torque Shaft drive Standard hard sidebags Electric-adjustable windshield Optional ABS Light weight, adjustable suspension ...can all coexist and result in a motorcycle that can attack corners with almost the nimbleness and precision of an all-out sportbike. Downsides? The FJR1300 moves so well, it may leave less time for taking in the scenery. The 6.6-gallon fuel capacity means you might not discover as many quaint gas stations. And, you may attract more hangers-on, so accommodating are the broad and supportive dual-density seat , excellent grab handles and cavernous storage . Life consists mainly of compromises. Some rare times, though, you really can have it all.

2015 Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage Stunt Bike Revealed

Mon, 29 Sep 2014

Yamaha continues to expand its MT lineup (or FZ lineup for us North Americans) with a new stunt rider variant on the MT-07. Making its public debut tomorrow at the Intermot show in Cologne, the 2015 Yamaha MT-07 Moto Cage will likely be an exclusive model for the European market like the Street Rally and Sport Tracker variants of the MT-09. Polish rider Rafal “Stunter13″ Pasierbek has signed on to be Yamaha’s official stunt rider, performing at shows and competitions on the MT-07 Moto Cage.

2022 Yamaha XSR900 Review - First Ride

Wed, 25 May 2022

The sportiest Sport Heritage Credit: Photos by Adam Campbell | Videos by Sean Matic Some of us were a bit surprised when Yamahas newly overhauled 2021 MT-09 snagged first place in last summers 900cc(ish) Naked Bike Comparison, against such more-expensive heavy hitters as the new Ducati Monster and KTM Duke 890. And all of us were a little surprised when the XSR900 defeated Indian FTRs 1200 and 1200S, and the now-defunct Monster 1200S, in an only slightly unfair 2019 comparo. (Slightly unfair because our test route was really nothing but tight, twisty roads.) Now, the 2022 XSR900 is newly overhauled just as last years MT-09 was, using all the same parts from the waist down, including the new super-sized 890 cc version of that most excellent CP3 three-cylinder and all its electronic controls.

Yamaha factory rider Ben Spies led for most to the second day of MotoGP testing at Sepang before settling for the second best lap the time sheets behind defending World Champion Casey Stoner. Spies rode 37 laps and recorded a time of 2:01.052, which stood as the fastest lap in the morning session. That time was surpassed later in the afternoon by Repsol Honda rider Stoner by 0.157 seconds.
