1978 Yamaha DT 175 E Enduro, 2285 miles, Sunshine Red, clean title
Starts, runs, shifts, stops great with these notes: - clutch needs adjustment (may jerk a bit the 1st time on cold start) - carb disassembled and cleaned in last 30 days - burns regular fuel One adult owner, easy riding (no whoops, no air), mostly on Michigan sub-division streets and dirt roads. - stored in garage - winterized, inc. yearly oil change - new fork seals in 2005 - new exhaust in 2004 - fenders & tank repainted; new decals in 2004 - new seat cover in 2004 Tires: - F: 80-100-21, good tread - R: 100-100-18, good tread but has sidewall cracks - Not D.O.T. approved (but work fine on pavement for reasonable distances/speed) Issues: - battery doesn't hold charge (only needed for lights when engine is off, magneto powers lights when running) - gas tank showing inside rust - small areas of rubs, chips, nicks, and surface rust, consistent with age - surface pitting on forks Extras: - In-line fuel filter - Std size fuse holder - RAM Mount, e.g. for GPS (GPS not inc.) - Owner's Manual - Electrical diagram - Official Yamaha key fob Inspections welcome. The decision, while unfortunate, isn’t hard to understand, as racing at the highest levels isn’t cheap, and a factory involvement means added pressure to succeed, which ultimately means spending more money to do so. Through it all, however, Yamaha has remained involved with the sport, fielding factory teams and sponsoring various riding schools and even racetracks.
