Brand new McDougall alternator for Vincent. Bought it "in case" for my Egli but sold the bike before needing it.
I copied this description from the vincent dot com website: I have discovered an alternator that in my estimation virtually solves any problem we may have encountered with a reliable charging system for our Vincent motorcycles. It will crank out 20 volts, 15 amps and 150 watts. The supplied regulator cuts back the volts to 13.8, perfect for a 12 volt charging system. Best of all, the unit has been tried and proven for the past 15 years on dozens of Vincent twins and a couple of Comet singles. You do not need to modify or change anything on your bike to install this alternator. Not only does it bolt right on but it has been proven as reliable production unit on thousands of tractors world-wide.One John McDougall, a long-time VOC member who now resides in Vancouver, British Columbia has re-developed a Kubota tractor alternator to give Vincent riders all the power from a generating unit they would ever want. Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Rakes In $1.8 Million
Mon, 16 Jan 2012A collection of classic motorcycles including some owned by the Du Pont family was auctioned by Bonhams in Las Vegas, with sales reaching $1.8 million, nearly double the pre-auction estimates. The auction included 50 motorcycles and 113 lots of spare parts from the Du Pont family including some from the personal collection of E. Paul du Pont, founder of Du Pont Motors and one-time president of Indian Motorcycles.
Mission Motorcycles Sues Co-Founder
Tue, 31 Dec 2013Mission Motorcycles is suing Vincent Ip, one of three co-founders of the electric motorcycle company, who was terminated in November. This according to a lawsuit filed this month in U.S. District Court, and first reported by the Associated Press.
Stats ahead of Estoril MotoGP round
Wed, 27 Apr 2011The MotoGP circus moves into it's tenth appearance at the Estoril circuit, with the Portugease circuit playing host to a Grand Prix event in each of the previous nine years since the introduction of the four-stroke MotoGP formula at in 2002. Below is a reminder of the highlights of the previous nine MotoGP races held at Estoril: 2002 – Having won the last 500cc GP race at Estoril in 2001, Valentino Rossi (Honda) won the first of the MotoGP races held at the circuit. This was a race that was run in very wet conditions and Sete Gibernau had led for most of the race only to crash out with four laps to go.
