Modification & Service Index Supplement 1958-1959

Overall condition ranges from very good to poor.  On the bright side, most of the interior pages are very good.  A very few have marks.  Only a few pages have been dog-eared.  A few of the issues from the 1970's have writing in pen and some pink highlighting but it's not too prevalent. Most of the staples from the 1950's and 1960's issues display rust.  This is particularly true with the 1958 issues which all have heavily rusted staples that should be removed and replaced.  The staples from the 1970's issues are very good.  There is a musty odor from long term storage which will dissipate over time.  The front and back exterior covers do display marks and discoloration and there is some wear on the spines.  Some issues display heavy discoloration.  A few covers have small tears.  Please examine all photos closely.

Record Breaking Vincent Black Shadow Is Top Seller At Bonhams Auction

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A fully restored, ex-works 1952 Vincent Black Shadow was the top selling motorcycle at the Bonhams auction, held at the International Classic Motorcycle Show at the Staffordshire County Showground on Sunday, April 28, selling for £113,500 (US $176,341 after premiums). This Black Shadow was part of the factory’s bid to set a new 24-hour speed record at Montlhéry in France in May 1952. Mechanical troubles prevented that from happening, but the team still came away with eight records, including six hours at over 100 mph.
