Mal Gray and The Wild Angels Rock 'n' Roll Man CD Mal Gray formed The Wild Angels in London in 1967. Along with groups like The Sunsets and Crazy Cavan & The Rhythm Rockers they were greatly responsible for the revival of interest in vintage rock 'n' roll amongst a new generation. From 1971 to '74 he was guest vocalist with American group Sha-Na-Na before forming the Mal Gray band and touring with many of the original Rock 'n' Roll legends. Later he starred in the the American Pie Rock 'n' Roll theatre show and worked with Bill Haley's from 1976 to '81. He still performs regularly on the international rock 'n' roll circuit today. These previously unissued recordings are from the late 1960s and include of 20 minutes of rock 'n' roll legend Gene Vincent with The Wild Angels from 1969. The CD booklet includes several rare and previously unseen photos of Mal and Gene. Within the sale, an intriguing duo of Brough Superiors will be offered for auction from a family synonymous with motorcycles for generations – Myerscough. The motoring history behind the Myerscough family began in 1893 when Leonard Myerscough opened a business repairing and selling bicycles, followed by motorcycles and automobiles. At the peak of this business, five locations serviced the Liverpool area under the banner L Myerscough & Sons Ltd. Encouraged by his father, the eldest son, Len Jr, took up dirt track racing in the late 1920s, enjoying success as a contracted team rider for both the Belle Vue Aces and Preston teams from 1928 to 1931.
Bonhams Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Rakes In $1.8 Million
Mon, 16 Jan 2012A collection of classic motorcycles including some owned by the Du Pont family was auctioned by Bonhams in Las Vegas, with sales reaching $1.8 million, nearly double the pre-auction estimates. The auction included 50 motorcycles and 113 lots of spare parts from the Du Pont family including some from the personal collection of E. Paul du Pont, founder of Du Pont Motors and one-time president of Indian Motorcycles.
