Synopsis from back cover:

Throughout World War Two the Royal Canadian Air Force operated a wide variety of aircraft types in the various roles it played in the Allied war effort.  Overseas its squadrons operated under RAF command during the struggle to liberate Europe.  On the other side of the Atlantic, the RCAF's Eastern Air Command's vigilance and offensive spirit kept Hitler's U-boats at bay, while Western Air Command stood watch against the very real possibility of Japanese aggression and on occasion joined forces with the USAAF in Alaska.  All the while, the country's heartland was a beehive of activity as Canadian air and ground personnel of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan kept the Allied air forces reinforced with all categories of aircrew.

Drawing on an immense range of archival records, memoirs, and photographs collected over decades of diligent research, author Carl Vincent provides a unique insight into some of the men and machines involved.  Each entry's narrative is loaded with history, much of it previously unpublished and is illustrated by rare and relevant photos plus accurate large-format colour profiles, all complemented by highly informative captions.

Discover how the oddball little Fleet Fort came into its new role, why the Bolingbroke was much more than "just a Canadian Blenheim", when chewing gum could prove vital for a Sunderland crew, who was one of the Allies' premier train-busters, and much more. . .

Ever since The King threw his leg over his ’56 Harley-Davidson and the Black Rebels rolled into Carbonville, the combination of motorcycles and rock have been as combustible as gas and spark. Early moto-rock lived for the most part on the fringes of pop music, in the pomped-up rockabilly of guys like Eddie Cochran and Gene Vincent.
