I bought my bike in Nov 1970 from another serviceman who bought it new from the triumph dealer in el paso, tx but was shipped out to Vietnam and had to sell. I used it as my primary means of trans to school and work during the early to mid 70s and had the bottom end and new pistons done by Bills Triumph in San Bernadino, Ca at 25k it has been garaged its whole life and last year I took it apart and polished every bolt washer and nut on it. I had the fenders, tank, side case and chain cover painted in orig colors and the painter researched the paint to get it just right. I put new tires battery and rubber fork covers on as well as the other misc rubber items. The bike runs exc all the chrome is orig and in exc cond. Up for grabs...1971 Triumph Tiger TR6R 650. This is a good running bike, just serviced, in nice cosmetic shape. It is fitted with a UK-style tank (newer paint on the fenders and tank), some old-school TR mufflers, and a new seat. Engine and frame numbers do match, all lights work, small tool kit is included. Mileage reads just over 6,600 and is believed to be original. Bike smokes a little from the right hand side - not mosquito fogger bad, but there's a little puff when getting on the throttle (probably rings as this bike has sat most of its life). Starts and runs fine despite this. This would be a great basis for a custom build if you're looking for a cool vintage, right-side shift Triumph. This motorcycle is in excellent condition and has been stored in a climate controlled environment for the past 6 years. It only has 9692 miles on it and is ready to ride. It recently had some carburator and clutch work. The mechanic that worked on it is very familiar with vintage triumphs and was amazed at it's condition and how it runs. I think the 2002 Triumph Speed Triple was one of the first bikes we reviewed upon my arrival. That’s me resting on the couch after performing the horn mono for Minime’s Kodak Brownie, which took a lot out of me.

A substantial reduction in weight and an emphasis on power and handling is the name of the game for 2022.
