    Production of the 750s started in 1973 with the twin-carb T140V Bonneville and the single-carb TR7V Tiger, direct descendants from the Speed Twin all those decades earlier. The TR7 Tiger combined 'the traditional virtues of thoroughbred handling with a power bonus from the 750cc engine. Single carb design provides miserly fuel consumption of up to 75mpg with fuss free reliability.' Like the T140, it ran at 7.9:1 compression with alloy conrods, plain big end bearings and ball and roller mains; used a multiplate clutch, triplex primary chain, welded oil bearing frame with taper roller head bearings, had a seat height of 31 inches, seven inches of ground clearance and weighed around 415lb (189kg) dry.

    You are bidding on a 1976 Triumph Tiger (TR7RV).  The bike is basically stock, except for the following changes:-carburettor which has been replaced with a Mikuni-side panels-headlight & headlight cowl-taillight-small turn signals-The previous owner rewired it and installed a Sparx ignition, and put a few information labels you'll see on the bike The bike has recently had a new head gasket installed - I have ridden it about 50 miles since that was installed, long enough to retorque the head, and I try to ride it at least every other day because its fun - and to keep it limber for its next owner!    It runs well, shifts cleanly, sounds great.

    This motorcycle is in excellent condition and has been stored in a climate controlled environment for the past 6 years.  It only has 9692 miles on it and is ready to ride.  It recently had some carburator and clutch work.  The mechanic that worked on it is very familiar with vintage triumphs and was amazed at it's condition and how it runs.  I can provide his telephone number if you are interested in talking with him.  This bike is super clean and starts on the first kick.  It is also in the condition and of the age where it will continue to appreciate in value.  There is a couple of scratches on the front fender that can be seen in one of the pictures.  Please ask questions or if you want to see close ups of any parts, let me know.  All the frame numbers match to the title.     Up for auction is my 1971 Triumph Tiger chopper its a flat black naked ratrod chopper.  The good: Clear Virginia Title in my name, it runs ok but could use a tune up because I haven't ridden it much, maybe new plugs and a carb cleaning, it wet sumps if it sits too long but most british bikes do! It has a boyer electronic ignition, nice 21" ribbed spool front wheel, A nice 10" over springer,custom rigid frame, and nice spiked forward controls.

    Up for grabs...1971 Triumph Tiger TR6R 650.  This is a good running bike, just serviced, in nice cosmetic shape.  It is fitted with a UK-style tank (newer paint on the fenders and tank), some old-school TR mufflers, and a new seat.  Engine and frame numbers do match, all lights work, small tool kit is included.  Mileage reads just over 6,600 and is believed to be original.  Bike smokes a little from the right hand side - not mosquito fogger bad, but there's a little puff when getting on the throttle (probably rings as this bike has sat most of its life).  Starts and runs fine despite this.  This would be a great basis for a custom build if you're looking for a cool vintage, right-side shift Triumph.  Feel free to give us a call or drop us an email and we will be happy to answer any questions - thanks for checking out our auctions! Parts replaced:  sludge tube completely cleaned out ,crankshaft bearings in both cases , lower rod bearings {still stock size} upper rod piston pin bushings ,  .040 over pistons  fresh bore job correctly crosshatched with hastings rings, complete valve job,  re-surfaced tappets, transmission original parts all in good condition new bearings for layshaft and mainshaft, inner trans cover new bearings,  shifts fine,  primary components were all in good shape new final drive sprocket, all seals throughout.

    I bought my bike in Nov 1970 from another serviceman who bought it new from the triumph dealer in el paso, tx but was shipped out to Vietnam and had to sell.  I used it as my primary means of trans to school and work during the early to mid 70s and had the bottom end and new pistons done by Bills Triumph in San Bernadino, Ca at 25k it has been garaged its whole life and last year I took it apart and polished every bolt washer and nut on it.  I had the fenders, tank, side case and chain cover painted in orig colors and the painter researched the paint to get it just right.  I put new tires battery and rubber fork covers on as well as the other misc rubber items.  The bike runs exc all the chrome is orig and in exc cond.  It shows it has been pampered I am selling as at 64 I find I have lost my nerve to ride anymore.

The 22nd edition of the annual LA Calendar Motorcycle Show marked its return to the Queen Mary Seawalk Village in Long Beach, California with hometown boy Sam Baldi taking the Bike Building Championship’s Best of Show trophy with a Jimmy Todorovith/Profile Cycles built Big Twin custom named “Lost Angel.” This year’s Calendar Show showcased not only top builders but selected vendors and exhibitors, and of course the Calendar Girl Music live performances. And as always, this year’s show celebrated the world premiere of the 2014 FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, featuring the world’s top SBK World Superbikes, sport and cafe bikes, and custom motorcycles with the beautiful Calendar Kittens. On hand throughout the day to meet with fans and pose for pictures were Calendar Kittens Apple Price, together with official SBK World Superbike grid girls Jessica Harbour and singer/songwriter Sarah Horvath.

50th Anniversary Of The Great Escape To Be Celebrated With Electric Motorcycle

July 4th marks the 50th anniversary of the iconic Steve McQueen film, “The Great Escape,” and to commemorate the golden anniversary of McQueen’s escape attempt from German forces during WWII, McQueen Motorcycle will unveil a special electric motorcycle, the Xscape. The Xscape is scheduled to be McQueen Motorcycle’s first production motorcycle, with cues to incorporate today’s technology and integrate “the history and design of tradition.” Details are scarce at this point, but considering McQueen rode a Triumph TR6 Trophy in the scene, it would be reasonable to expect similar styling. In fact, looking closely at the photo above will reveal wire wheels, most likely a nod to the vintage Triumph.

2013 Triumph Trophy Fuel Tank Recall Now Includes US

A recent recall announced for the 2013 Triumph Trophy and Trophy SE for a potential fuel leak has now expanded to the U.S. The recall, previously announced by Transport Canada, concerns a production error for the fuel tank of the affected units. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the two layers used in the construction of the fuel tank may not properly adhere to each other, resulting in a potential fuel leak.

The Michael Dunlop Show continues with the 24-year-old Northern Irish racer winning his fourth race of the 2013 Isle of Man TT.
