Triumph Tiger description
2013 TRIUMPH TIGER EXPLORER, Triumph has tossed its hat into the high-performance adventure motorcycle market with the new 2013 Tiger Explorer. Newly designed from the ground up to challenge any other dual-purpose motorcycle, the Explorer features an all new 1215cc three-cylinder, double overhead camshaft engine that provides plenty of torque for rugged off-road riding and exceptionally smooth power for the highways. This powerful 12-valve, liquid-cooled engine develops 135 bhp at 9,300 rpm and 89 ft.lbs. of torque at 6,400 rpm. All of that power is transferred to the cast aluminum alloy 17-inch rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox and a low-maintenance shaft drive. A 19-inch cast aluminum alloy front wheel provides plenty of ground clearance and agility. Front and rear disc brakes with switchable ABS, traction control and electronic cruise control are all standard equipment. A rugged steel frame and over seven inches of wheel travel handle even the roughest trails. Adjustable Kayaba front and rear suspension systems and an adjustable seat provide optimal comfort and control. The handlebar and windshield are also adjustable. A new drive-by-wire electronic throttle system controls engine speed. A 5.3 gallon capacity gas tank gives plenty of range. A high-capacity 950 watt generator and DC socket provides plenty of power for multiple electronic accessories and electrically heated clothing. All new handlebar-controlled instrumentation features a large digital display for speed, an analog tachometer, gear indicator, fuel consumption readout, air temperature indication and more. The Tiger Explorer has been designed to go 10,000 miles between servicing, ideal for long distance adventures.

Upcoming 2014 Triumph America Horizon Now to be Called the America LT
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Back in March, we broke the story of a new variant on the Triumph America for 2014 that had received an executive order from the California Air Resources Board. The CARB document, dated March 14, identified the new model as the Triumph America Horizon. Based on the name and Triumph’s current product offerings, we inferred the new model would be a new touring variant of the 865cc America cruiser.
What’s Old Is New Again – Video
Mon, 14 Oct 2013There’s something distinctly cool about old British motorcycles. From the wire wheels, the minimal bodywork, and the exposed engines which give off a thunderous bark, I’ve always loved looking at old Triumphs, BSAs and the like from the 60s. I’ve never owned one though. The reason is simple: old British bikes are needy little maintenance machines notorious for the odd oil leak.
