Rain Forces Triumph Castrol Rocket Team To Look To Bonneville 2015

The past two weekends have produced more than three inches of rain and sad news for Bonneville land speed racing fans.Triumph has released it official statement regarding the announcement by Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout that the course will not be ready for its Triumph Castrol Rocket streamliner and others to make a 2014 FIM legal attempt at 400mph. This is not what you want to see the week before racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. Yoshimura, the purveyors of fine aftermarket exhausts have put the heads together for these fine looking high-level cans for the Triumph Street Triple. According to the PR; the exhausts offer a considerable gain in performance over the stock items (dyno results below), with a significant weight reduction. The stock exhausts top the scales at 7.2kg and with the top-of-the-range carbon slip-ons, the weight is shaved down to 3.5kg.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.
