Triumph Tiger description

2013 TRIUMPH Tiger 800, The Triumph Tiger 800 is the slightly more civilized version of the Tiger 800XC. Both models represent Triumph's initial entry into the dual-sport bike market. The Tiger 800 is powered by a 799cc water-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine that produces 94 bhp and 58 ft. lbs. of torque. Triumph's expertise in three-cylinder engines is well known, and this new engine is the product of many years of experience and refinement. This 2013 Sapphire Blue Tiger 800 features ABS, dual disc front brakes, extended wheel travel, a strong steel trellis frame and a five-gallon gas tank. It is a bit more comfortable on the highway than the XC model, but it doesn t hesitate at all when a bumpy dirt road comes along.

New: Venhill 888 fast-action twistgrips

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

CONTROL specialist Venhill has launched its new 888 range of bike-specific fast action twistgrips.  Supplied complete with the company's top of the range Featherlight cables, the kits are designed for a straightforward replacement of the factory-fitted equipment.  Bike-specific kits are now available for the Honda CBR600F, Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R600/750, Triumph 675 Daytona and Yamaha R1/R6, among others, with prices from £105. Here's Venhill's description of the new product: "Manufactured with a robust CNC machined alloy body, the 888 fast action twistgrip provides a choice of two settings and is supplied with two rotors so that riders can select the throttle action that best suits the riding conditions.  Settings can be changed swiftly by undoing the two set screws securing the throttle body and changing the rotor. On the fastest setting there is 80° of rotation, (taking up 36mm of the cable), which is typically 45% faster than 'standard' throttles.

How well does a Triumph Tiger 800 crash?

Mon, 08 Nov 2010

I've just come back to the hotel after our first day riding the Tiger 800 with the other Brit journos. One of the journos (who shall remain nameless, but alas, it wasn't me) crashed at low speed. Pictured here is his bike.
