Triumph Tiger tech info
Triumph Tiger description
1968 Triumph Tiger 650 Chopper with factory Amen Savior rear end. The frame has been modified to accommodate the rake of the front forks. This bike came from an estate sale and was a very well maintained regular use bike. As can be seen in the pictures it is a custom paint job, "96 Tears" being a very popular classic rock song covered by over a dozen major artists.
The previous owner made some very nice upgrades to the bike to include the front rake and bars, an upgraded Magneto, oil cooler and reservoir, added a battery under the seat and a remote headlight switch so you don't have to kick the bike over to turn on the lights, and some not obnoxious but very nice sounding pipes. We went through the bike to make sure the major systems worked as they should and in the process rebuilt the carburetor, verified everything electrical works on the bike, changed the fluids, and it fired right up. The tank had a small leak at one of the gas valves so the tank was removed and repaired (can be seen in last picture of listing), a few of the black pieces that were showing rust were also removed, stripped, and painted. In order to touch up the tank and complete the valve repair on the underside of the tank we had the bike color matched and have fresh touch up paint that will come with. The bike has everything there, but will need tires because it sat and probably the wear parts in the brake system. However, everything is there on the bike and the major stuff works just as it should - Motor - 650cc twin, fresh rebuilt carburetor, upgraded Magneto, oil cooler and reservoir. Nice sounding pipes - Electrical - everything verified as working and just went through. - Transmission - shifts as it should - Cosmetically - the bike was used as a driver, there are some scratches and some very light pitting in the chrome, but as can be seen in the pictures, the bike looks great. The wheels could use a serious cleaning, but everything polished out quite nicely for a bike of this age. I have only taken it up and down the street, no extended trips. Someone should go over this again and replace wear parts before being used as a daily driver. Please contact me with any requests for information or questions prior to bidding. |

Akrapovic full system for Triumph Daytona 675
Tue, 28 Jun 2011From Akrapovic is a new full system for the Triumph 675 Daytona: After extensive research and development with the Smiths (Gloucester) Racing team, Akrapovic have now launched a full system for the popular 675 Daytona. Although the bike has been available since 2006 Akrapovic have only ever offered a slip-on silencer option, electing not to develop a full racing system for this bike. However, after unprecedented demand from the WSS and BSS paddock for racing products the decision was made to develop a full racing system in a modular format that allows the headers to be added to existing customer’s slip-on kits.
New Stuff: Bridgestone Battlax Racing R10s
Fri, 23 Sep 2011...stickier than a Weatherspoons floor on a Friday night. Well that’s not exactly an official Bridgestone technical term but no matter which way you look at it the brand new Battlax Racing R10 tyre is a ‘Road legal’ Supersport/Superstock race tyre. It’s used as the control tyre for the Aprillia RRV450 race series.
Single sided chain adjustment
Wed, 14 Apr 2010We don’t get the manuals with our long term bikes and I didn’t want swallow my pride and ask triumph how to adjust the chain on the Speed Triple. For the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. The single side swing arm with centrally mounted disk is a work of art but how the hell you are supposed to adjust the thing?
