Triumph Tiger description
1963 TRIUMPH T20SC Tiger Cub
Bike is being relisted - please only bid if you agree to all conditions and intend to complete the transaction, thanks.
I picked this up recently in a trade, so my background knowledge on it is a bit limited. I believe I'm the 3rd owner since it was pulled from a barn (yes, a true "barn find") somewhere in Wisconsin. From what I'm told, the original finder got it in a partially disassembled condition. He dismantled it further to begin a rebuild. Before reassembly it was sold to the gentleman that I traded with. He in turn reassembled the bike and got it to a running state but didn't do any actual restoration work.
The bike could still be considered to be in "as found" condition - pretty rough and in need of a lot of TLC. The previous owner did get it up and running as I mentioned and demonstrated to me that it did indeed run. I tried kicking it over the other day, but was unable to start it and didn't have time to play around with it.
It's about 90% complete, missing a few pieces here and there:
Front fender bracket, Kick-start rubber, Tools (case is present but empty), Small round cover (located at rear of r. side engine case behind kick-starter), Speedo glass (shattered), Engine case bolt (1 on l. side cover), Chain guard, Steering lock (appears to have been sheared off the frame) - all should be visible in the photos.
*The engine and frame numbers are non-matching (some left the factory that way during this time period, but I don't believe that to be the case with this bike - more likely mismatched by a previous owner). The engine is stamped: T20SC 93144, with the frame stamped: T 93519 and the raised head lug casting number: F4421 (typically either F3380 or F4421). Engines and frames from 1963 were stamped with numbers from 88347 to 94599.
The tires are basically new, having been sourced by one of the previous owners to replicate as closely as possible, the original tread pattern. The paint is bad and definitely not original, my guess is a home respray sometime in the 70s maybe. There's not a lot of heavy rust - mostly minor surface rust and most of the chrome is in decent shape, the rear rim cleaned up nicely. I haven't done any work to the bike since getting it, other than doing a little clean-up to get an idea of the general condition. Actual mileage for this bike is unknown. This would make a great resto project or simply as a donor bike for another project. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
There's no title for the motorcycle, so it will be sold with a bill of sale only. It is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Pick-up and/or transport arrangements (including all associated shipping fees) are the sole responsibility of the buyer. $500 deposit due at auction end. Full payment (balance of winning bid amount) must be received within 7 days of auction end. Please, serious bidders only - if you bid and win, it's yours.

Triumph to Sponsor Jason DiSalvo Speed Academy
Wed, 18 Apr 2012Triumph Motorcycles has signed a sponsorship agreement with Jason DiSalvo‘s riding school. The 2011 Daytona 200 winner rides a Triumph Daytona 675R for the Latus Motors AMA Daytona Sportbike team so it’s no surprise the British manufacturer is sponsoring the Jason DiSalvo Speed Academy. DiSalvo also raced for Triumph-backed BE1 World Supersport team, and though he left the team on rather murky terms, DiSalvo and Triumph enjoy a strong working relationship.
