Used Dirt Bike

This is a great, reliable 50s/60's era Triumph T20 Tiger Cub trials bike. I am not sure of the year. Please check with your go-to Triumph guru for frame and engine manufacture dates. I do not believe that the engine/frame are matched.  The frame number is T71743. The engine number is T20 4959. The engine has been rebuilt and is on original bore. It runs and idles excellent, with no oil leaks and no ticks or unusual sounds of any sort. No fuel leaks either... except from when you tickle the carburetor to start it. I ride this bike almost daily, to run my dogs 2 miles down and back a country gravel road, which runs beside/behind my farm.

Both front and rear shocks operate well, with good dampening down and back up (these are oil filled forks of course). It has the light plastic trials tank. It has the oil tank modification - putting an "oil in frame" stub tank between the upper frame and the tank (can not be seen, except for front fill cap)(great workmanship on this modification)(2.2" diameter x approximately 18" length). It has Preston Petty Products "mini Mudder" plastic fenders front and rear. 18" rear and 21" front rims. No rust on rear rim. Some rust on front rim (has been treated and sealed). No rust on spokes. Needs new rubber front and back. Current rear rubber is slightly too wide and is scraped slightly by chain on one side and spark arrestor on other. Bearings on front and rear wheels are great. No leaks on forks and boots are supple. No leaks on rear shocks either. Header scratched significantly at front bend (see pics). No wobbles, tight forks/trees, swing arm, etc. Renthal bars. Clutch works flawlessly and does not slip whatsoever.

The bike is Trials competition or vintage motocross ready. It can easily run on the road as well. I have taken it on a 1 hour road ride in 90 degree weather, with no issues. It runs like a champ. If you want it to be street legal, you will need to add the necessary components (battery, wiring harness modification, headlight, tail light and brake light actuator assembly). I am happy to do that for an additional charge (call for quote, if that is something you want to pursue). BIKE IS SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE ONLY. If I do end up getting it street legal for you, I am happy to get it titled, but you will need to pay for that expense (inspection, title and registration).

A deposit of $100 via Paypal is due within 24 hours after sale. The balance is due within 3 days after sale. Please call to arrange payment and shipping details. Sale is at my door step. I will assist the transport company, but you must set up the shipping with a transportation company.  You take ownership at pick up from my door. I will ship internationally, same details as far as transport and ownership. 913-594-2798 Mike

Upcoming 2014 Triumph America Horizon Now to be Called the America LT

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Back in March, we broke the story of a new variant on the Triumph America for 2014 that had received an executive order from the California Air Resources Board. The CARB document, dated March 14, identified the new model as the Triumph America Horizon. Based on the name and Triumph’s current product offerings, we inferred the new model would be a new touring variant of the 865cc America cruiser.

Laguna Seca Added to 2014 AMA Superbike Schedule

Thu, 13 Mar 2014

AMA Superbike will be racing at Laguna Seca this year after all, with AMA Pro Racing announced the addition of the Monterey, Calif., circuit to its 2014 schedule, joining the World Superbike Championship on July 11-13. Laguna Seca was not included in AMA Pro Racing’s calendar, but its addition now increases the number of rounds in the series to six. That’s still down from the nine rounds held in 2013, but the absence of Laguna Seca and its famed Corkscrew would have been an especially tough loss.
