Triumph Thunderbird tech info
Triumph Thunderbird description
The introduction of the 2010 Thunderbird brought back a classic name to the Triumph model lineup. The new Thunderbird cruiser has the low-slung look of the style, with lots of chrome. The engine is a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled parallel-twin. This Pacific Blue / Fusion White T-Bird includes the optional 1700 Kit, which increases the engine displacement from 1597cc to 1700cc (104 cubic inches). Engine output is 97 bhp with 72.4 ft-lbs. of torque. A six-speed gearbox and a toothed belt drive transfer power to the 17-inch x 6-inch cast aluminum rear wheel. The 19-inch aluminum front wheel has twin-disc brake rotors and Nissin calipers. The rear brake is a single disc with a Brembo caliper. Showa forks are used on the front suspension, and chromed-spring twin Showa adjustable pre-load rear shocks make up the rear suspension system. A tank-mounted chrome instrument nacelle houses a large analog speedometer and integrated tachometer, along with a digital display for odometer, clock, fuel gauge and range to empty indications. A scroll button on the handlebar controls the digital display. Other features include self-canceling turn signals, a large, chromed headlight housing, a LED rear light assembly, a 5.8 gallon fuel tank, sport exhaust and a low seat (27.6-inch seat height) with taped seams for extra waterproofing. A chromed 104 Cubic Inches gearbox cover signals that this Thunderbird has the 1700 Kit option.

2022 Triumph Speed Twin Review
Mon, 16 Aug 2021A little more of everything, along with Euro 5 It was just about a year ago when we sampled Triumph’s reborn Speed Twin for the first time on home soil, in a two-bike standoff against a way-more-expensive optioned-out BMW R nineT. At the time, we were slightly underwhelmed and had to rate the new Speed Twin second, by a hair. 2022 Triumph Speed Twin Editor Score: 89.0% Engine 18.5/20 Suspension/Handling 13.0/15 Transmission/Clutch 9.0/10 Brakes 9.0/10 Instruments/Controls 3.5/5 Ergonomics/Comfort 9.5/10 Appearance/Quality 9.5/10 Desirability 8.5/10 Value 8.5/10 Overall Score 89/100 It was mostly a suspension thing; the Triumph’s old-timey 41mm cartridge fork and twin rear shocks couldn’t compete with the R nineT’s plush, adjustable setup.
Triumph is recalling motorcycles due to problems with electronics
Fri, 07 Nov 2014America, Bonneville, Bonneville T100, Rocket III Roadster, Rocket III Touring, Scrambler, Speedmaster, Thruxton, Thunderbird, Thunderbird Storm, Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC will be recalled by the British company. According to the manufacturer, the engine control unit of some motorcycles may malfunction, due to which one of the fuel injectors will inject additional fuel into the engine cylinder. As a result, the engine will either not start or stall during operation due to excessive re-enrichment of the combustible mixture.
Triumph Teases Speed Triple 1200 RR Prototype
Tue, 17 Aug 2021Faired Speed Triple tabbed for 2022 model year Triumph has started teasing a new faired version of the Speed Triple across its social media channels. Details remain scarce, as Triumph seems to have planned a long teaser campaign (and we know how much our readers love those), but we can form some conclusions based on the images we’ve seen, and on the name: the Speed Triple 1200 RR. From the name, it’s obvious the sportbike will be based on the Speed Triple 1200 RS, with a similar cast aluminum frame and 1160cc Triple which claims 177 hp at 10,750 rpm and 92 lb-ft.
