The hlins suspension front and rear (NIX30 forks and TTX36 rear shock) keep the forged aluminum wheels (0.7kg and 1kg lighter than stock front and rear) and Pirelli Super Corsa SP tires stuck to the road. And the Brembo monobloc four-piston radial calipers (with 5% more stopping power than stock) bring you back into compliance with the law in a hurry no matter how far out of compliance you were! This one is set up with the full Arrow 3-into-1 exhaust system, which shaves a nice chunk of weight, adds a juicy boost in power, and makes the bike sound like heaven! It also has the color-matched flyscreen to keep some of the wind blast off of you, and the passenger grab bar to give your significant other better odds of staying on the bike when the fun begins. Two months ago I had a set of Bridgestone BT-016 Pro’s fitted to my Triumph Speed Triple. Before setting out on the new tyres, the Speed had covered 4000 miles. Now with just over 7000 on the clock the rear tyre is on the limit markers.

Riding round the north of Scotland

I’m ashamed to say that until last week, I had no idea what incredible roads and scenery the North West of Scotland had to offer. Starting at Helensburgh just west of Glasgow, ten of us (including ex racers Duffus, MacPherson, Morrison and Simpson,) rode 600 miles round the coast then back down to Inverness. On mostly empty but immaculate roads we lost count of the mountains, lochs and sandy beaches along the way.
