Triumph Speed Triple description

Here's a sweet running, low mileage 2003 Triumph Daytona that has been converted to Speed Triple. This bike began life as a Daytona 955i, but the original owner had low speed drop that exploded the plastic (big surprise)and cracked the front wheel. It then sat in his garage for 10 years until I bought it back in October and it's been totally rehab-ed it over the winter by a Triumph mechanic in Maine. This has the Daytona-tuned 955i fuel injected motor that puts out 147 HP and is smooth as glass. Transmission is flawless as well.
Here's what's been replaced:
New chain and sprockets
New Stainless braided brake lines
New in-tank high PSI fuel pump and fuel filter
Replaced front forks, front wheel and rotors
Replaced speedo cluster, blinkers, control pods, brake and clutch levers and hydraulic reservoir.
New dirt track style handlebars- makes for super comfortable upright riding position.
New heated grips
New Lithium Ion Battery
New Oil and Air filters
Replaced both radiator, and oil cooler
leo Vince exhaust-excellent throaty sound
replaced stock seat with more comfortable "long haul" seat
replaced headlights with Speed Triple "bug eye" lights.
comes with boxes of extra parts/wheels, etc.

This Triple needs nothing but a rider who wants an awesome handling, smooth running Triumph 955.  It is registered and inspected and has been a daily rider.  I have two kids in college, and I want a new Mountain bike, so this has to go.
No tire kickers or joy riders, please. email me with questions. I have a legit Triumph shop manual for it as well, and the original tool bag is in the storage compartment on the bike. I've removed the passenger pegs, but they are included in the boxes of spare parts.
Ask questions. Check my feedback rating and bid with confidence!

Speed Triple gets mean

Fri, 29 Oct 2010

I headed up the M1 this week to the Triumph Factory in Hinckley. The Speed Triple was due its 12000 mile major service and the workshop also had some new shiny bits to add to the bike for me. Service intervals are every 6000 miles which is more than bearable but the major service will cost you around £450.

Brits Abroad

Tue, 10 Aug 2010

It's a rainy Tuesday evening and I'm trawling the information super highway for my parallel twin fix, when this little gem pops up. It's a teaser for a film called 'Brittown' featuring vintage Triumph motorcycle racer and mechanic Jeff "Meatball" Tulinius from the Hell On Wheels bike shop in Anaheim, CA. Enjoy

2012 Triumph Speed Triple R Unveiled at EICMA

Tue, 08 Nov 2011

Triumph’s legendary Speed Triple receives the ‘R’ treatment for 2012, which means it comes equipped with top-shelf parts like Öhlins suspension and Pirelli Supercorsa SP rubber. Judging from its looks alone, it’s plain to see that this is no ordinary Speed Triple. Triumph worked in close collaboration with Öhlins, to fine tune the NIX30 43mm fork and TTX36 shock to work specifically for the Speed Triple R.
