Why it won the Best Middleweight Street bike: The Daytona 675 was the most fun and easiest sporty middleweight to ride, whether clipping apexes on a snaky backroad, cruising down the highway or just bopping around town. Its 75cc displacement advantage in a field of highly tuned, rev-happy 600s gave it a leg up in terms of lower-rpm torque output, but the Triumph outshone the competition in just about every other category, too--handling, steering, comfort and even cornering clearance. Toss in the bike's good looks and its three-cylinder engine's growly exhaust note and you've got a sure winner. Triumph motorcycles have long had a sense of their own purpose and a sense of distinction and, against a mass of homogenous product, Triumph motorcycles stand out as being unique. Simply put, they're not like other bikes in look, feel and character. This is a planned evolutionary process that has become clearer over the past few years with bikes like the stunning Rocket III, iconic Speed Triple and breathtaking Sprint ST. These bikes are evidence of a real focus and desire from Triumph to build their bikes, their way. It's a process that has gathered great success in terms of worldwide sales, press appreciation and brand identification. Not Honda CBR 600, Suzuki gsxr 600, Yamaha R6, Kawasaki Ninja zx 600

Triumph Street Triple Used to Test Rocket Components – Video

Fri, 04 May 2012

California-based aerospace company XCOR is using a Triumph Street Triple to test rocket components for a suborbital spacecraft. Of course, what immediately comes to mind is a giant rocket strapped on to the Triumph, but the truth is much less dramatic, yet still fascinating. XCOR is using the Street Triple for endurance testing of bearings components for the rocket propellant piston pump of the Lynx suborbital spacecraft.
