Ground Up rebuild. New Crank (crank & head reconditioned), Rods, Pistons (.60), & Rings. New seat, Headlight, Turn signals, Cables, Speedo, Wiring, Switches ETC ETC, Paint is VERY Good, especially for
20+ years old. Tires are like New, but older. Brakes are good, frame & swing arm straight. I took on this project for a recently widowed family friend. Bike had sat for 20 years in heated garage & would not kick thru. Had motor re-built by independent Triumph Mech. of 40 years. I did the rest. I have owned 20+ Triumphs. What it needs, besides an owner. 1) Break-in 2) Tank will want to be creamed, some rust, not bad 3) footpeg rubbers. 2012-2013 Triumph Daytona 675, Speed Triple, Street Triple, Tiger 800 Recalled in Canada
Mon, 25 Mar 2013Transport Canada has announced a recall for the 2012 and 2013 Triumph Daytona 675, Speed Triple, Street Triple and Tiger 800 because of a flaw in their turn signals. Several members of the Motorcycle.com forum network’s TriumphRat.net community have reported issues with turn signals breaking off, and this recall appears to address the issue. According to Transport Canada, the supports for the front and rear turn signals were incorrectly manufactured and may break.
2014 Triumph Thunderbird Commander, Thunderbird LT Models Outted in CARB Documents
Tue, 15 Oct 2013An executive order released by the California Air Resources Board reveals two new additions to the Triumph Thunderbird cruiser lineup. Joining the base Thunderbird and the Thunderbird Storm (both of which have already received CARB certification for 2014) are two new versions, the Thunderbird LT and the Thunderbird Commander. According to the executive order, both new T-birds will be powered by a 1700cc engine designated as the ETDXC1.70KMM, the same engine family designation assigned to the parallel-twin engine powering the Thunderbird Storm.
