Triumph Bonneville description
Up for auction is a 1970 Triumph Bonneville, Restored. This was a nut and bolt restoration. Everything is new or rebuilt. The motor and transmission were rebuilt, by a shop that just does British motorcycles. It has new Amal Carbs on it. Bike starts first or second kick. The paint was purchased from Don Hutchinson's shop and professionally applied. The pin striping was done by Wild Bill Betz. The nuts and bolts were cad plated. The Tires and rims are new, with new stainless spokes. The rims were made in the UK.The frame and most of the parts have been powder coated. The gauges were rebuilt. There are only a few miles showing on the speedometer, because I had an old speedometer on the bike for the first 190 miles, while the ones were being rebuilt. The bike idles and runs great, the charging system work as it should. The bike runs,Stops and Rides with no problems. I had no trouble with the bike during the miles I have put on it. Speed Triple gets mean
Fri, 29 Oct 2010I headed up the M1 this week to the Triumph Factory in Hinckley. The Speed Triple was due its 12000 mile major service and the workshop also had some new shiny bits to add to the bike for me. Service intervals are every 6000 miles which is more than bearable but the major service will cost you around £450.
New Triumph joins the family this Friday
Tue, 23 Mar 2010With the nights drawing out it feels like an end to what has been a very long winter. I’ve been getting the train to work recently and if you’ve used London’s tube network in rush hour then you’ll know what I mean when I say the words ‘inhuman over crowding’. I had a call from the Triumph factory in Hinckley today and the good news is my new staff bike will be ready for collection on Friday.
EICMA 2013: 2014 Triumph America LT
Tue, 05 Nov 2013Just as it did with its Thunderbird family, Triumph revealed a new bagger to its America cruiser line at the 2013 EICMA show. Follow the rest of our 2013 EICMA show coverage Originally revealed in CARB documents as the America Horizon, the Triumph America LT adds a deattachable windscreen, pillion backrest and leather saddlebags to turn the midsized America into a serviceable light tourer. The America LT is powered by the same air-cooled 865cc parallel-Twin with a 270-degree firing interval as the regular America and the Speedmaster cruisers. Performance numbers are the same, with Triumph claiming 60 hp at 6800 rpm and 53 ft-lb.
