Awesome 1967 Triumph Bonneville T120R Scrambler Desert Sled - Q Air Cleaner This bike is in great shape for its age. It was turned into a desert sled very early on in its life and has some great period correct goodies that have stayed with it. A very rare Q air cleaner was added, along with Bates pegs, a Bates headlight and open high pipes. Bike has a competition top triple tree with western bend bars, the standard for desert racing. The bike runs very well, and I believe it has had some warming up, but I do not know the specifics unfortunately. Like most Triumphs, it starts first kick most of the time. Newer additions to the bike are a regulator/rectifier to get rid of the battery and Boyer ignition, both of which are reversible if necessary. Head was replaced in the 60s with one from a TR6 in order to use the Q air cleaner. Tires are Firestone with hardly any miles on them. Bike will need a kickstand lug welded on and the lights hooked up if it is to be ridden on the streets. This is a great period correct bike that can be ridden or stored. I love this bike and cannot replace it or the history, but need more room in the garage. Buyer to pay $500 NON REFUNDABLE deposit at the end of the auction. For six days, August 23–28, 2014, the collective eyes of speed freaks world-wide will be focused on the famed Utah salt flats as constructors and riders race for national and world records at the recently renamed Bonneville Motorcycle Speed Trials. Continuing the relationship the American Motorcyclist Associationmaintained over the past 10 years during the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials, the AMA will clock top-speed runs in every class of motorcycle, ranging from 50cc mini-bikes to high-dispacement streamliners.
Recall for 2011-2012 Triumph Tiger 800 and 800XC for Engine Management Software
Thu, 25 Aug 2011Triumph issued a recall for the 2011 and 2012 Tiger 800 and 800XC adventure tourers due to a bug in the engine management software. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Triumph Tigers’ 800cc Triple engine may stall during deceleration. Riders may also notice lower RPMs indicated on the tachometer at idle.
Triumph’s 500,000th Production Motorcycle Headed to Auction on July 1st
Thu, 16 Jun 2011It was less than a month ago that Triumph’s 500,000th production motorcycle, a special Speed Triple with commemorative paint job, rolled off the line. World-famous auction house, Bonhams, has recently announced that it will put the special Trumpet on the auction block on July 1, 2011, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Comedian Ross Noble has completed his Sit Down Tour of Great Britain with the milestone Triumph, and now the bike is ready to raise money for Riders for Health charity.
