Triumph TR6 description

1957 Triumph TR6 project. I originally found this bike mostly incomplete, and have hung parts on it as they turned up. I'm not going to be able to restore it, and I need the space.
It is not a runner, but engine and gearbox are free.  Let's be clear, it needs a total restoration, and there is lots of work to do, not every item on it is in great shape.
On the plus side, it is close to complete, missing  the dynamo, engine plate covers, and gas tank supports, 1 tank badge, and possibly some small  things I have missed, but I believe all the custom fasteners are there. It has a Canadian ownership and matching numbers.
Here are some  issues I know of, but possibly not all.
Gas tank has welding on bottom, around rear mounting studs, pitting around filler and some minor dents, but I believe it to be solid, although, I would seal it to be sure.
Outer primary is in good shape, but was chromed at some point. Someone removed much of it, but still lots left.
Headlight needs hole cutting in bottom for QD plug.
The rear wheel is from a unit Triumph. You could use it, but I am including a hard to find pre unit  19" QD wheel. It's the wrong size rim, it s/b 18", but if you rebuild the wheel around the QD hub, it will be correct.
Rear fender is a "Made in England" repop, made on the same Equipment originally used by the factory. It looks fine.
This would be a perfect winter project for someone.

I will ship worldwide, delivery costs are the responsibility of the buyer, but I will do anything I can to assist, but please note, shipments to some countries require a custom made packing case from treated wood, and can be expensive. Payment is by bank transfer only within 3 days, or if you are picking it up, a $500 deposit by Paypal within 2 days, balance in cash on pickup.

New: Venhill 888 fast-action twistgrips

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

CONTROL specialist Venhill has launched its new 888 range of bike-specific fast action twistgrips.  Supplied complete with the company's top of the range Featherlight cables, the kits are designed for a straightforward replacement of the factory-fitted equipment.  Bike-specific kits are now available for the Honda CBR600F, Kawasaki ZX-6R/ZX-10R, Suzuki GSX-R600/750, Triumph 675 Daytona and Yamaha R1/R6, among others, with prices from £105. Here's Venhill's description of the new product: "Manufactured with a robust CNC machined alloy body, the 888 fast action twistgrip provides a choice of two settings and is supplied with two rotors so that riders can select the throttle action that best suits the riding conditions.  Settings can be changed swiftly by undoing the two set screws securing the throttle body and changing the rotor. On the fastest setting there is 80° of rotation, (taking up 36mm of the cable), which is typically 45% faster than 'standard' throttles.

Today at EICMA 2012, Triumph has taken the wraps off the hotly anticipated Daytona 675 and 675R. We first broke the news of a new Daytona last month, but details were still largely unknown at the time. As we expected from the fresh, updated look of the 2013 model, the 675’s updates are more than just skin deep.

2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 110th Anniversary Edition Revealed

Thu, 15 Mar 2012

Triumph revealed a limited edition model commemorating the brand’s 110th anniversary. Triumph has done a good job trading off of a history that traces back to 1902, so it’s fitting the English marque would recognize the anniversary with a special edition version of its classically-styled Bonneville T100. We had an inkling the 2012 Triumph Bonneville T100 110th Anniversary Edition was on its way after we saw its CARB approval documents a few weeks ago.
