Triumph Speed Triple description

2010 Triumph Speed Triple, anniversary edition with Arrow Exhaust - SPEED TRIPLE The original factory street fighter. The streetfighting champion of the world. Triumph’s Speed Triple is a modern day classic, a perfect expression of the stripped-down, ready-for-action, naked sport bike. Many have come and gone since the first Speed Triple created the class in 1994, but the latest incarnation of Triumph’s naked sport still rules the roost. At 130, the Speed Triple has the most powerful version of the 1,050 cubic-centimeter three-cylinder engine snarling beneath the rider. Stripped for action from its iconic twin headlamps to the stubby rear end, the high-specification of the Speed Triple shines through. Make no mistake, this is no dumbed down sportsbike with the fairing off. This is the real deal. From the adjustable 43 millimeter upside down forks to the four-piston Brembo brakes and tapered aluminum Magura handlebars, the Speed Triple boasts quality components from head to toe. Premium details like the single-sided swingarm and multi-spoke alloy wheels complete the unmistakable Speed Triple look, with the stubby dual exhausts delivering the unique three-cylinder soundtrack in booming stereo.

The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.

2014 Triumph America Horizon Revealed in CARB Documentation

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal the existence of a new model from Triumph to be called the America Horizon for the 2014 model year. As its name implies, the 2014 Triumph America Horizon will likely be based on the existing Triumph America (the 2012 America is pictured above with touring accessories as an illustration.) The CARB documents confirm it will use the same 865cc parallel-Twin engine as the America as well as the Bonneville, Scrambler, Thruxton and the Speedmaster. We predict a claimed output of 60hp at 6800rpm and 53 ft-lb.
