The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

It’s a demanding event for both man and machine, which provides stories of ultimate triumphs or devastating failures. The 2013 BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials, which takes place throughout this week, will provide another such story of triumph or sorrow, as a blind man will attempt to race down the famous course.

Triumph 1600 twin Cafe Racer

Mon, 08 Mar 2010

WE SPOTTED this one earlier on French website Motorevue: a Swede, Sivert Raask, has concocted a this motorcycle from Triumph's 1600cc Thunderbird cruiser, with the use of a handmade seat, a Ducati tank and a bit of cunning.Quite tasty for a home-brewed effort, don't you think? We love a cafe racer here on Visordown, send us yours!
