bike is mechanically sound, there are some very light scratches on the gas tank that can be buffed out, appears to be a little bit of corrosion on the aluminum on the top of the forks, the chorm is pealing on the back foot rests, broken reflector on right fork, few tine holes at front of seat, has new battery,very small amount of corrosion around the ring of the head light and speed odometer housing, the backs of the mirrors have scratches as shown in pictures, missing left side cover plate. Recall for 2011 Triumph Tiger 800, 800XC Accessory Center Stands
Mon, 29 Aug 2011Triumph is recalling accessory center stands for the 2011 Tiger 800 and Tiger 800XC because of a defective return spring. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the return springs on the accessory center stand for the Triumph Tiger 800 and 800XC may not always return to its original length, potentially leading to a loose center stand and a fracture in the spring wire. Riders may detect a rattling sound from the loose stand and in the case of a fractured spring, a scraping sound caused by the center stand dragging along the road.

Fri, 03 Aug 2012So yesterday I was threading my way through London on Triumph's Tiger Explorer 1200 with panniers. Quite a wide load. Up ahead, I see a police biker and reckon on him being able to part the traffic enough for me to have an easier run down by the river.
