1975 Suzuki RM125M The Bike That Started It All The Rarest Suzuki RM Completely Restored Show Condition Overview: If you are a collector you have to have one of these or your collection. If you don’t, your collection is missing the most important piece of motocross history. The RM125M is the first year the RM was made and the only RM to have a down pipe. More importantly it is the bike that made motocross affordable to the masses. It gave the average “Joe” with $1,000.00 (1975 $’s) the ability to buy a bike off the showroom floor and be competitive. The 1975 RM125M is by far the rarest RM. This is not a cosmetic makeover (see pic. of tore down stripped motor). This bike is completely restored to collector show quality. If you are looking for a clean rider, this bike is not for you. If you’re looking for a bike to stick in your living room and show off, then this is the bike you have been looking for. Every part has been removed and restored to show quality. This is a “no expense spared restoration”.
Details Every part has been disassembled, cleaned, inspected and replaced if necessary. Here is the short list of what’s been done 1. All aluminum parts have been polished 2. All painted parts have been repainted or powder coated. 3. All bolts have been zinc plated. 4. All seals have been changed. 5. Triple clamp and swing arm bearings have been changed 6. New Piston & Rings 7. Clutch has been rebuilt 8. Completely rebuilt carburetor 9. Front forks and rear shocks have been completely rebuilt 10. All plastic has been replaced 11. New seat and foam (Custom built tall one year only seat to match exact factory model) The following is a list of NOS parts included in this restoration
In addition, the following costs also went into this bike
As you can see I have over $5,400.00 invested in parts alone. Then there is my labor. I have over 100 hours of work in this bike and that does not include the years I spent collecting these quality used and NOS parts Lastly there is the true value of a bike that cannot be duplicated. This bike is a better then new 33 year old bike, just as it was on the floor of the Suzuki dealership 33 years ago.
Conclusion This is more than a collector bike, this is an investment opportunity, that’s great to look at. It’s time to raid the kid’s piggy bank and cash in that 401K. This may be your only chance to buy the rarest RM in this pristine a condition. This is a true investment opportunity. I know, after this round of restorations, I will not be restoring any more 1975 125M’s. It is just too hard to find good usable/restorable parts and the NOS stuff is non existent. If you like Suzuki’s and more importantly a fan of MX history don’t let this bike go to someone else. Because of the quality of the restoration, this bike has not had gas in it since the restoration. I restore Suzuki RM’s to show quality, I am not a photographer. The pictures do not come close to doing this bike justice. This bike is not cheap, but if you want the best 1975 RM125M in existence, good luck in your bidding. Now is your chance to own a piece of motocross history.
