Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec is the 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion. Krawiec clinched the title with a second-round win at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway that eliminated Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana Jr., the only rider in the field with a chance to overtake Krawiec for the championship. Krawiec advanced to the final round and lost to his Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate Andrew Hines, who finished the season third in points. 2013 AMA Daytona 200 Race Report

Cameron Beaubier led a parade of Yamaha YZF-R6 racebikes to win the 72nd running of the famed Daytona 200. The Yamaha Extended Service Graves Yamaha rider started from pole position and led for 50 of 57 laps before winning by a 22.254-second margin. Behind Beaubier were four other R6 riders including his teammate Garret Gerloff who finished second.

Hopkins Breaks Hand in Testing Crash – Yes, THAT Hand

Crescent Fixi Suzuki racer John Hopkins has broken a bone in his right hand during the first day of testing at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. The injury was to the same hand Hopkins injured last season that eventually led to the amputation of the tip of his ring finger. Hopkins high-sided entering a corner riding a 2011-spec Suzuki GSX-R1000 (the 2012 superbike was not yet ready).
