Intermot 2012: Special Edition Suzuki GSX-R1000 Celebrates 1 Millionth Gixxer

Suzuki is celebrating the production of the 1 millionth motorcycle in the GSX-R family with a limited edition model. Unveiled at the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, the Millionth Edition 2013 Suzuki GSX-R1000 comes with a commemorative paint scheme, black Brembo brake calipers, pin-striped wheels, gold fork tubes and red fork caps, suspension spring and nose. The top yoke also features a numbered Millionth Edition plate and the key is decorated with Suzuki’s red “R” logo.

2014 WSBK – Donington Results

Tom Sykes and Loris Baz captured a pair of one-two finishes for Kawasaki at England’s Donington Park. The first race saw the reigning World Superbike champion fight his way up from 11th place for the win while Race 2 offered a three-way battle between the two Kawasaki riders and Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli. MotoGP should return to Suzuka

Suzuka was always one of the great circuits; unfortunately the Japanese track was dropped following the tragic death of Daijiro Kato in 2003 as the course was deemed too tight and dangerous for the rapid four-strokes. Owned by Honda, Suzuka is a magical place combining arching S-bends from the start of the lap, high-speed in the middle and finished off with the technical and oft racing deciding final chicane, the location of many fantastic last lap battles. However the death of Kato, and Honda’s major hope of a Japanese champion, placed a dark cloud over the 5.807 kilometres of tarmac.
