High compression cylinder head. 1976 Crankshaft with 6k miles resealed water pump. High performance blue silicone coolant and carb hoses. Jemco expansion chambers. Rebuilt front brake hydraulics with stainless braided brake lines rebuilt calipers master cylinder and high performance brake pads. High performance rear brake shoes with vented backing plate. New chain and front and rear sprockets. 35mm clip on bars with new throttle choke and clutch cables. Barnett Kevlar clutch with high performance springs. Raask style rear set foot controls. Rebuilt front fork with matched springs. New rear shocks. Frame and swing arm refinished with epoxy paint. Custom rear swingarm bushings. While Schwantz wore RS Taichi gear during several of his memorable seasons in the 500cc class, his partnership and success with Taichi apparel all started with his victory at the 1988 Daytona 200. And now that Schwantz and the Circuit of the Americas have settled their differences, the 1993 world champ took to the track in RS Taichi leathers again for the first time recently at the Circuit of The Americas media day, as newly appointed motorcycle ambassador for the circuit.
Kevin Schwantz to Race 2013 Suzuka 8 Hours
Wed, 01 May 2013Former Grand Prix World Champion Kevin Schwantz has been making the headlines a lot recently, and not necessarily for good reasons. But finally there’s some good news: Schwantz is coming out of retirement to race in the 2013 Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race. Schwantz is joining Yukio Kagayama‘s team for the July 28 race, riding a Japanese Superbike-spec Suzuki GSX-R1000.
