Up for auction is a 1972 Suzuki TS400J "Apache". This the first year for this model. I have just completed a frame-off restoration on it,and it looks great. The frame was powder coated "Trail Performance" and the head and exhaust was "ceramic"coated. The wiring and all nuts and bolts were cleaned and polished. The seat has been recovered and a new chain installed. The carb was cleaned and a new throttle cable installed. "Suzuki" mirrors were found and added on . The paint is new on tank,fenders,and side covers done by "Steve Rhoades Paint". The headlight does work,but only on low beam. The exhaust tip "Stinger" is missing, but I do have a new exhaust gasket and clamp for it. (If anyone has one to sell , let me know! I would gladly purchase it.) The head gasket was also replaced. This bike also has the "Original" tool kit , but no owners manual. I purchased the bike from the second owner who had owned it for 15 years. The buyer is responsible for any pick-up arrangements. An old friend dropped in this weekend, on his way back from an arse-killing 4,500 mile ride to Estoril and back to watch the MotoGP race. He has only ever ridden Harley chops and old stuff with the exception of his vague nod at practicality and modernity - an ancient, very, very high mileage R1100GS BMW. I made him a brew and some pasta arrabiatta then made him ride my 2011 Fireblade.

If you miss seeing factory two stroke racing machinery being ridden properly then you should consider a trip to the Spa classic event in 2013. I was the lucky recipient of an invitation to ride there last week and had a blast riding some tasty kit from the past. I went well at Spa in 250cc GPs but the circuit scared me on the 500s.
