Up for auction is a 1972 Suzuki TS400J "Apache". This the first year for this model. I have just completed a frame-off restoration on it,and it looks great. The frame was powder coated "Trail Performance" and the head and exhaust was "ceramic"coated. The wiring and all nuts and bolts were cleaned and polished. The seat has been recovered and a new chain installed. The carb was cleaned and a new throttle cable installed. "Suzuki" mirrors were found and added on . The paint is new on tank,fenders,and side covers done by "Steve Rhoades Paint". The headlight does work,but only on low beam. The exhaust tip "Stinger" is missing, but I do have a new exhaust gasket and clamp for it. (If anyone has one to sell , let me know! I would gladly purchase it.) The head gasket was also replaced. This bike also has the "Original" tool kit , but no owners manual. I purchased the bike from the second owner who had owned it for 15 years. The buyer is responsible for any pick-up arrangements. Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
2009-2011 Suzuki GSX-R1000 Recalled for Side Stand Interlock Switch
Fri, 01 Jun 2012Suzuki is issuing a recall for 2009-2011 GSX-R1000 because of a potential failure of the side stand interlock switch. The interlock switch is what cuts off the ignition circuit on a motorcycle when the side stand is down and the transmission is in any gear except neutral. Its purpose is to prevent a motorcycle from moving with the stand deployed.
Eric Bostrom to Race TTXGP for Brammo at Laguna Seca
Thu, 26 Jul 2012Eric Bostrom has signed on to ride the Brammo Empulse RR in the electric motorcycle race at Laguna Seca July 28-29. The race is the final stop on the TTXGP‘s North American series and a joint event with the FIM’s ePower series. The AMA racing veteran will join Steve Atlas to represent Team Icon Brammo at Laguna Seca.
