We dare you, Suzuki: call it the P-Strom Credit: Photos by BMH-Images Spy photographers have snapped images of two new Suzuki prototypes powered by a new Parallel-Twin engine. The two motorcycles, an adventure bike and a naked model, appear to be the eventual successors to the V-Strom 650 and SV650, and the culmination of a long development path for Suzukis new middleweight twin-cylinder engine. The 645cc engine powering the V-Strom and SV650 has long been one of our favorites, but having only received updates to keep them compliant with emissions standards, the liquid-cooled V-Twin has been getting quite long in the tooth.

Cleaner, greener, more civilized but even meaner Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing Its always fun to read the armchair quarterbackings of our beloved MOrons in the Comments whenever a new motorcycle springs into view, and the latest iteration of Suzukis naked GSX-S1000, harumph, was no exception. Some hate the angular new styling, some defend it. Some lament the demise of Suzuki in general, some admire the companys resourcefulness in doing less with more.

Just a few years after it was (re)introduced, Suzuki has announced an updated version of the Katana, which is based on the updated 2021 GSX-S1000. Suzuki says the new Euro5-compliant Katana now makes approximately 150 horsepower. Better still, the new engine makes a broader spread of torque across the entire rev range.
