Suzuki GSX-R tech info
Suzuki GSX-R description
I've had the bike for about 2 years. It has always been garage kept. I travel almost 5 days out of the week and go to Europe September through January so it doesn't give me much time to ride it.
Additions-
aftermarket fairing kit
red trim on the rims
D3 handle grips
smoked all turn signal lights
Custom blade clutch and brake levers
chrome brake pedal
I'm selling a 2006 GSXR 1000. It blue books for 7,285 and the trade value
was 5,100 making the street value between 6,400-6,500 so I think $5,900.00 (DUE
TO MILEAGE 26,000 freeway miles) is more than fair, no trade in or payment
plans, cash only, I'm in no rush to sell
it. Most of the miles on this bike are
freeway miles. My bike is 5,000 miles
over the average miles put on this type of bike per year. 21,000 vs 26,000
I'm ONLY selling it because I'm going to Europe on tour
again this year, I tried to sell it last year, but I’m not going to give it
away, I need the price I’m asking for. It’s
just going to be sitting around at my house for 4 months again. The bike has always been garage kept. It has
brand new tires, perelli diablos in the front and pilots in the back. I have done
an oil change every 2,500 miles with full synthetic oil. The bike has custom
fairings, blade brake and clutch levers, custom grips, sliders and smoke tinted
mirrors. It’s my first bike, so it has never been "stunted". The brakes were changed about 700 miles ago,
so I can confidently say the bike will be maintenance free for the next 2,000
miles or so. I'm only accepting cash and
if you’re serious like I was when I bought it, then that shouldn't be a
problem. I'll also throw in a full face helmet
and a pair of gloves. Feel free to call anytime 702-755-8153 or
702-370-4610.

in good condition. The paint should match and have a good finish. All lights
and switches should work properly. The mileage should be within or slightly
higher than the average range. This unit should also pass any emission
inspection. Average is 7,285 |
How does mileage affect the value of a motorcycle?
Kelley Blue Book does not give dollar figures to add or deduct
based on mileage for motorcycles. The reason for this is that the condition of
the motorcycle is of far more importance that the number of miles it has been
ridden. A motorcycle that has been ridden several thousand miles on surface
streets will have less wear and tear than another motorcycle that has the same
number of miles but has been ridden over rougher terrain. It is between the
buyer and the seller to determine how much to add or deduct from the Kelley
Blue Book value based on the condition of the motorcycle. My bike
has never been ridden on rough terrain that I know of.
What is the average yearly mileage
for a motorcycle?
Obviously mileage will vary from year to year and model to
model. A simple guide could be to consider the type of bike you are looking at:
If the bike is a sportbike 600 c.c. to 999 c.c., and since these bikes are
traditionally weekend only bikes, you can expect to see lower miles, about
3,000 miles per year. Tourers or Sport Tourers usually see a lot of miles, but
these are generally freeway miles, between 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year.
I've never had a single mechanical problem with the bike. I'm not a "stunter" or a racer so the bike has never been to a track or driven hard. I'm not going to haggle. The price is firm.
