Tue, 10 May 2011An old friend dropped in this weekend, on his way back from an arse-killing 4,500 mile ride to Estoril and back to watch the MotoGP race. He has only ever ridden Harley chops and old stuff with the exception of his vague nod at practicality and modernity - an ancient, very, very high mileage R1100GS BMW. I made him a brew and some pasta arrabiatta then made him ride my 2011 Fireblade.
Former World Champion Franco Uncini Named Grand Prix Safety Officer
Wed, 20 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation has named Franco Uncini the FIM Grand Prix Safety Officer and circuit inspector. The 1982 500cc Grand Prix World Champion (pictured on the left above) takes over for the retired Claude Danis (right in the photo) to oversee safety in MotoGP. The now 58-year-old Uncini won the 1982 World Championship for Roberto Gallina‘s factory-backed Suzuki.
Ack Attack Streamliner Will Attempt To Break 400 MPH – Video
Wed, 04 Sep 2013The Top 1 Oil Ack Attack streamliner motorcycle, currently the world’s fastest motorcycle with a top one-way speed of 394.084 mph and a world record speed of 376.4 mph, will attempt to set a new world record by topping the 400 mph barrier during Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout by VARTA Powersports, Sep. 12-16.
