Suzuki GSX-R description

Haven't had the time to ride like I would hope so I am selling my bike. I am the second owner of this beautiful 2006 GSXR 1000 in blue and white. It has ~14k miles on it, never been down. I babied this thing for the years I have owned it and knowing the previous owner personally, he did the same (the only reason I purchased this bike used, I would otherwise buy new). Clean title in hand, current registration. Will include a pair of pitbull stands for the buy it now price.

Mods are light and tasteful, including:
-Galfer SS rear brake line
-Puig dark smoke wind screen
-Yoshimura CF conical slip-on
-Shogun frame sliders
-Fender eliminator
-Stompgrip on the sides of tank
-Tank protector
-Chrome wheel lip stickers ***The wheel lips are NOT polished or painted, its just a sticker and will come off easily***

The bad:
-The windscreen is missing one of the 6 screws. Not sure where it went or how it fell out, but just haven't bothered replacing it. Windscreen does not move because the other 5 screws still there.
-One nickel sized crack in the very bottom of the lower fairing right by where the opening is by the exhaust headers. Probably from a rock or road debris. Paint is still intact. Hard to see unless you're looking for it.
-Chain is the original for the bike. Still in fair shape, but probably will need replacement in the next several thousand miles.

Oil always changed w/ Mobil 1 and a Suzuki filter. New Yuasa battery, garage kept. Includes 2-up seat as well as solo cowl. Currently has Michelin Pilot Race tires with plenty of life left.

You will not find a nicer K6 1000. Always garage kept, under a cover and on a battery tender.

Results From Day 1 Of World Superbike Testing At Phillip Island

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Eugene Laverty, aboard his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000, led the field today as the first day of World Superbike testing got underway at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia, site of the first race of the 2014 season. Under sunny skies and perfect weather conditions, Laverty adapted quickly to his new ride after spending last season aboard the Aprilia RSV4 Factory. The Suzuki offered incredible feedback and allowed him to push right out of the gates, ultimately setting a fastest lap time of 1:30.513.

Surely more wins are on the cards for Seeley and the 2011 Gixer?

Thu, 02 Jun 2011

The amazing Alex Lowes is deservedly grabbing all the attention in the BSB paddock at the moment, but I believe last year’s top Superbike rookie, Alistair Seeley is doing an equally impressive job in the Supersport class. Although he looks ten years younger, thirty one year old Seeley  is riding one of only two 2011 600 GSXRs (fellow countryman Marty Nutt is on the other) in the class. Alistair has finished on the podium four times including a race win at the opening Brand Hatch round and currently lies second in the championship.  He also took victory on the Gixer in the only race run at the North West 200 last month and was looking like the runaway winner last Sunday at Thruxton until electrical gremlins struck after opening up a seven second lead.

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.
